Badlands ORP: 24 - 25 May

Hey guys,
I figured I'd put the word out over here, too...

...Been planning a trip to Badlands Off Road Park in Attica Indiana for the last few weeks. As for most of these things - at the start there was no shortage of people expressing interest, but as the date has gotten nearer, almost EVERYONE has flaked out.
I'm going down this Saturday morning. Not sure what time I'll arrive. I am down for camping at their campground and making it a 2-day trip, but right now the only other guys going just want to make it a day trip for Saturday only.

Saturday night they are keeping the trails open until 9pm for night trail riding, which is something that they do VERY RARELY - so if we stay and camp, we could get a night run in too.

Anybody with any rig is welcome. I'm not planning on doing anything HARD CORE - just traill riding.

Wish I could, have plans already.
As far as the weather, would be a great weekend to have a topless 40 in the woods!!

I'm out this weekend as well. Some pre-made plans in the Land of Cheese. There is another run next weekend there if you're up for it SAR.

So I finally made it out to Badlands. Went out there yesterday met up with Barry "Bear", and Brian "Brinner". Bear didn't stay too long, but Brian and I had pretty much a full day of trail riding. Badlands was pretty good. I wouldn't say it's the best place I've even been - but not NEARLY the worst. I'm a sailor, so I can always find something to bitch about - but mostly thanks to Brian (who knows the Badlands like the back of his hand) I had a great time!

Enough blabbing - on with the pics!

The 2 White Tacomas:

On the trail:

We didn't get the obligatory trademark Badlands shot of us dropping out of the tubes - mostly because my photographer (aka - wife) was shitting a brick. ...and it was such a hard drop, I didn't want to do it twice in one day!

...IS MY MIDDLE NAME!

My only stuck of the day :

...all the stuff I've been through in my truck from mud to Moab-Rim, and THIS 1 LITTLE ROCK is what hangs me up!?!?!?

We tried bouncing the bed, we tried my fancy-schmancy Spotter Line, in the end I had to winch.

Apparently EVERYBODY gets stuck :

Badlands Rock Crawling:

It's steeper than it looks...

As I said - a great trip to badlands. It was funny how similarly built and capable mine and Brian's rigs were. I don't think there's anything that my truck could do that his couldn't and vice versa. He and I had a great time on the trails, and Badlands is kind of a confusing place and I would have spent most of the day lost if not for him. Thanks again Brian - I look forward to wheeling with you again!

All of our pics from this weekend can be seen here:
