Cruiser rollover/parts vehicles for sale
Hey gang-
Kinda rolled the cruiser tonight. I was getting on to the interstate onramp when the driver's side rear wheel came off at 45 MPH during a turn. I ended up rolling into a ditch and walked away without a scratch, but she's totalled. When I found the deliquent wheel a couple hundred feet up the road, it turned out my spacer lugs had sheared off
I've got some conflicting thoughts on how to proceed from here. I love my Land Cruiser, but seeing as how I only carry liability insurance, I'm not so sure I'll see a dime from this accident. And with 18 g's in grad school tuition in the next year plus a wedding to pay for, I'm not sure another cruiser is the way to go either. So I'm looking to sell both my rolled vehicle and my parts rig for parts. The sooner, the better in this case. I'll post up pictures and a list of available parts on the both of them tomorrow. It's been a sad day, and I'm thinking some booze is in order right now.
Travis

That sucks Travis! I can understand wanting to keep the finances in order, but Toyota quality is hard to beat if you get something used and reasonable. Have you thought about an 80 series? The prices on those have come way down over the years. They wheel great and are very comfortable for on road driving. Your pup NEEDS a decent size vehicle . Send me some pics of your 60s.

Sorry to hear that Travis, but glad you're O.K.
Ditto on Clints recommendation for an 80, you're already used to crappy mileage!

Well here are the couple of photos I took. Damage doesn't quite look as bad as it does in real life, that's for sure. For rolling over entirely, she held up well.
Probably start a whole nother thread as far as trying to get rid of the stuff. Kinda wish I had time and space to part everything out, but both are lacking at this point in time.

Glad your o.k.
I hope everything works out.
You should part it out on MUD in the for sale section. You might make enough to buy an 80 .

Glad you were not hurt Travis. If you are going to have to buy another vehicle you might as well look for a Land Cruiser.

I want another cruiser, but I had always thought the next one would be a 40. And that's maybe not the smartest move I could make right now. And don't you have to be a metrosexual to own an 80??
Jimmy, the dog was fortunately not with me at the time. Although I was driving up to Kankakee to pick up another dog and transport it to a foster home for the rescue society I volunteer with. Fortunately I didn't make the pick up.

Travis that really sucks I have always loved your 60. I'm glad to hear you were unharmed. Now maybe it's time you become metro sexual like so many of us around here. I'm sure all will work out in the end. Better keep them rims and tires they would sure look good on an 80.
Best of luck,
Chad P.

That really sucks Travis, especially with all the work you did to the body and such. I am glad I got to ride in it with you at the Badlands last month to see what a real 60 can do. Thanks for the memories. I might be interested in the lift, the rear bumper and probably a few more things if I think about it. Are you sure you can't make a good one out of the two you have? Glad you are all right.

Crap Travis....just fell upon this thread man.
I'm totally sorry to hear about this.
And, as a fellow roll compatriot, I feel your pain indeed.
That said, you cannot leave cruiserdom man....we need good people like yourself.....
Good luck on whatever move you make next man.

Thanks Ron, thanks Onur. The truth is, I can make a good cruiser out of what I've got, it's just time for me to admit I bit off more than I can chew right now. In the next 10 months I'll be working full time, finishing my master's, getting married, selling two homes and moving cross country.
If I had more time or experience, I'd be able to fit cruiser work in there but I'm not much of a mechanic and it takes me far too long to consider keeping. I'll be out of the game for a little while, but it's definitely not my last cruiser!

Hope it all works out for you. Hard times don't last. Good times prevail. Keep your chin up, little buck-a-roo. I'll spread the word about the stuff for sale. Glad you made it out ok, so you can live to be a cruiser head again.
