I know...."updated regularly"....well, I have been trying
the sliders are gone...new ones will be fabbed

Monsters! They are huge! Currie is BADASS!

I got 11 of them

It's a little dark but, you get the idea

I actually had to go 4" higher than I am in these pics(31" to bottom of frame rail is still pretty low for 38's)

The X-member will be notched for d-shaft clearance

Upper tri- 3link monting brackets(tacked in place)

Lower link mounts (pass. side)

Rear view

lower link mount(driver side...I see grinding that needs to be finished)

As far as powerplant's go...I'm going w/ a 3.4L and coils up front....the V-8 is too heavy

The 3.4 is a good motor.

Looks great. Keep it as light as you can.

actually the 1uz is an aluminum block and only wieghs a c hair more than the 2.7 four banger. Not that I'm trying to steer you away from the 3.4, it deffenitly is a great motor. I just have some sick infatuation with the 1uz. Keep up the good work, looks like its going to be quite the capable trail rig.

Started mocking up links tonight....turns out that 1-1/4 pvc conduit is an awesome size for these joints.

It makes mock up so easy...think about it-tubing cost 9.00 a foot(for what I'm using) PVC conduit is VERY CHEAP(I'm an electrician) and light

Progress 5/18/06

I set my frame height tonight. I am liking 28.5" to the bottom of the frame rail. I have roughly 6" up travel (rear). I cut the old shock hoops out from under the front end and ground the slag off. I determined that I am probably going to need to reinforce the front end(due to the coils). But since I am dovetailing the front clip I think that I'll just cut the inner fenders completely out and rebuild it with tubing. Attach the fenders/hood/winch/grill/headlights and all my fender mounted engine components to the tubing(after writing all that down it sure seems like alot of work) I want to put a stinger on there too.

I'm gonna go and pick up my wheels tomorrow... I got 5 H1 DBL beadlocks that have been sandblasted and por'd for $225! HA! I am gonna order some 6lug centers in a day or two.
I got some prices on tires today:
38x12.5x16.5 TSL 6ply 188ea(no tax shipped)
38x12.5x16.5 TSL SX 196

what ya think?

I'm back at it again!....I ordered a new toy lastnight! I've got a pro-tools 105HD bender on the way with hydrauilcs!

time for project update: I'll add pics tonight

I finally built the tower to mount my upper link for my 3-link. I went out to Bud's(budbuilt) and had some assistance with my math to bend my new upper link....yep I got it semi finished too! As soon as the taps get here I can locate an axle!

told ya I'd post tonight!
6/26/06

I've had this done for a while now...just been slack with the camera. I have the rear axle just about finished and the RH tap came in...time to get my ass over there and thread some tube for my links.

On with the pics
My upper link(you'll see the finished product soon enough )

Rear axle build-up...here is the start

Here are some pics of the tube bed design( BEND-TECH KICKS ASS!)
Still workin' on it

With rear stinger that needs to be shortened

As for the brackets..... www.polyperformance.com
Are they not badass? I love 'em!

I bored the hole through the tube tonight and got it ready to put my threaded end(It is getting tapped tomorrow) into the link. When I get the threaded end back I promise I will post up pics

And I also took the wire wheel to the rear axle...I have to get the grime off of it so I can paint it

This guy isn't really building a toyota. He got those pics from cardomain. Justin aka(Unbreakable) is building a 86 Datsun P/u. It's going to have a full exo tied into blingin roll bar. A 454 bored 60 over, ax-15 tranny to a chain driven toyota t case, bobbed bed, stock ifs frount and a dana 70 rear. The frount is going to be geared 373 and the rear is going to be 513. 31" mtrs in the frount and 35" groundhawgs in the rear....welded both ends.

Lots of of Jegs and Summit sticker will send this baby through the Mud. So will the Get-R-Done frount license plate.
