Thanks for all the complements.
Tony, Good to hear from you and I thought the 55 stuff was cool looking too. I haven't decided on the sides, fenders, or rear yet. I don't have any other 55 sheet metal to play with, tho a rear gate would be cool to graft in. As far as side, I was thining on going flat sheet (lexan or alum). Fenders I am still not sure on, have to see what I can source and come up with, but the fenders will be minimal if at all. So in short it may just have 55 hood and grill.

Re:Tube Chassis Cruiser Project
Reuben,
We definetely need to talk. That thing is amazing to say the least. I like the tub work and the overall design.
As for the purist factor, I decided to basterdise a 45 wagon and am sure to catch crap for it but the purist in me can play with a restored 40 and beat on the wagon...to a point. I hope to have the wagon ready for next spring or a winter run. I am attempting to keep the body stock but basterdise everything else in a nice clean way inorder to be able to play hard and not do constant damage to the thing.
I am seeing more and more cutting and chopping of nice cruisers but have to continue to give people credit for what they end up with in the end.
We all know the phrase..."it's only money" and it's your money so do with it what you will.
Great pics and keep them coming.

Thanks, I'm waiting to see pics with MOG parts on your rig. Post some updated pics here soon.
I hope to get more work done on the front end this weekend and maybe I'll have pics with the headlight bezels grafted in.
If your lucky, I'll snap a few pics of my top secret bling project that I just got....Alum 320lbs V8 block to build a stroker.

Tube Chassis Cruiser Project
Got a few things done on the rig, while not working on the glow plugs on my new to me tow rig (M1008).
Here it is with the headlight bezels grafted in, I'm thinking of cutting the hood to match along the red tape:
Here is a pic of my High Angle driveline rear shaft with NP241 SYE
Here is a pic of my High Angle driveline front shaft, had to make 2 piece to clear the links, trans, and engine. Also keeps the belly flat. I still need to fab up a pillow block mount.
And last but not least, my new engine bling project...an all aluminum V8. This is the block, a rover 4 bolt main block I got.

Tube Chassis Cruiser Project
Sweet!!
After seeing some really bizarre tube beasts at BHCC this year, I've been tempted to try something like that myself... It won't have an aluminum block v8 though (bling!)
Keep up the good work...
Oh, and when is Kate going portal Nolen?

Well I figure about time to get off my ass and post some new pics and give an update. After a long hiatis from working on my rig (since before Thanksgiving!), and thoughts of selling the project, I started working on it again about a month back. I have gotten some progress done all be it little stuff that isn't work taking pics of.
But here is how it stands a week ago:
I will try to get more updates now that I am working on it again. If you want to see pics of something specific please post up because I am terrible about remembering to take and post pics.

Nice outfit, I'm impressed! Looks kinda spendy though. What I'd like to know is, do you have something else to wheel in? If not, how do you compensate? My truck has been down for 3 weeks and the "call of the wild" is getting to me. 2 more weeks till resurection day, and I've got to get thru them without biting myself.

Thanks, Yes its spendy, and up until I started working on it again I was building with the best stuff I could source. Now I have been using some of what I have laying around to finish it, example toy pickup column rather than race stuff. I also plan to use the original 4.3 V6 I had and I plan to sell the aluminum v8.
I haven't wheeled in my other truck (M1008 you can see grill in one of the pics). Yeah I have the itch fairly bad, I just keep in mind that this rig will outwheel my last cruiser by a long shot and should be worth the wait. One other thing is I love building as much as wheeling. This one has tried my nerves as I need a plasma cutter really bad, grinding and cutting every single peice is a real chore. (Anyone want to trade alum v8 stuff for a good plasma cutter)
Things are going better now as I am starting on less of the fab work and more odds and ends...started custom making the exhaust this weekend and it was a nice change.

Ruben,
Looks outstanding and keep up the project, no crazy thoughts about selling it now! Keep posting photos and crossing things off your build list, get that buggy on the trail!

Thanks for all the great comments. Here are some more pics of the steering work last weekend. I also finished the front y pipe, but don't have any pics.
Finished ram mounting:
Steering angle before:
Steering angle after grinding and going to near limits of CV Joints (gained about an 1-1.5" travel from the ram. For those curious that is a 10" ram:
More to come after this weekends work.

Update!
Ok now that I have been shamed into posting more pics and updating my site on another board... I will post some updated pics.
Here they are:
Work on the floor and firewall:
Engine side of firewall:
Master Cyl and steering wheel mount:
Drivesside with pedals (yet to modify to larger brake pedal ):
Lastly, driverside under the seat:
Enjoy!! And yes I will finish this someday.
Next is to finish the wheelwell parts of the firewall and work on mounting my new radiator (bush series 4 core aluminum radiator with oilcooler BLING) behind the seats.

Whats been going on in the barn with your buggy???????
Do you have some close ups of the steering system you built, top mounts.
And your lower links in the rear look very trick with the slight bend in them, does this weaken them?

I have bee working on the firewall and floors lately, I'll try and get more pics after the weekend.
By top mounts are you reffering to the high-steer arms? if so I can get more pics and info on them. All I have done so far with steering is the rams, tierods and highsteer arms. I am saving my $$ to get the rest of the hydrostuff.
The lower links are made from 2"od .250 wall tubing. I hope they are strong enough, the bend is slight in them and if needed I will box plate the lower bend to resist furhter tweeking from rock rash.
