is this pretty much as it sits now?

i have a military trailer and could put some kids seats in it but there's always more to the equation:
i have isabel
i have a troopie ( well, i have 2 of them right now)
i have a single seater comp buggy ( almost done)
i have other toys that i hardly use ( went jet skiing 3 times last year and rode my motorcycle 4 times )
so it's just time to get rid of some of the things i don't use or don't need and get something that i can enjoy/use more frequently.
so i'd like to put my wife in a 100 series cruiser ( gotta stick with cruisers and i like them a whole lot better than the 80s ) and then i'll build some sort of 4 seater to wheel with.

the pic above is close to what the 40 looks like now with the exceptions of:
1) it now has a cleaner hood on it
2) the tires and rims came back off; sold the tires ( used 37" MTRs ) and will be replaced witha set of brand new 37" iroks on the same new rims
3) moved the rear axle back and installed some 55 rear springs with new shackles, u-bolts, u-bolt plates, bushings, .......
and a couple of other smaller updates but nothing major

get it wooooody. Ron Safreno had someone looking for a solid cruiser. Maybe they would take your current unit.

change of plans, again!

so here's the latest update:
i had set aside a 63 FST to build for my wife. it's bone stock, body's in great shape but it needs everything. i also just traded my single seater buggy for a 4 seater so i really don't "need" a hardcore 40 anymore. on top of that, i have not received any offers that i considered reasonable and i'm not willing to give my cruiser away. and the market being what it is right now, i thought it might be better to just hang onto the rig.
so here's the new plan:
keep the cruiser and build it for my wife. to make it more user-friendly for her, i'm going to de-tune it a little by removing the one ton axles and the atlas t-case. they will be replaced by a split case and a apir of built fj62 axles. that way it'll be more streetable yet more than capable enough to do any trail except for the most extreme stuff like the hammers. so the old axles are about to go to a new home along with the t-case and hydro steering components. they'll be replaced as soon as i find the parts required to do so.
meanwhile, my wife's looking into getting back on a horse so she said " go ahead and finish your project and then finish the cruiser for me". ask me, that's a BIG green light to finish this, which will hopefully make its debut at katemcy next year :

thanks, i'm stoked too! i have two people very interested in the axles and t-case right now. waiting for a deposit before i can call them "sold". the proceeds from the axles/t-case outta be enough to buy the new axles, t-case and adapter as well as some parts for the buggy. i have pretty much everything else to finish the cruiser so that should work out well.

i came up with a plan to finally get some work ddone on my rigs: my wife just bought her horse yesterday; the seller accepted her offer. so we made a deal that i'm going to work on my projects one night a week. first i need to build the axles and trans/t-case for "land cruiser junky" so i can deliver them to the build-up of his FJ35LV in mid july. after that, it's onto the buggie and then the cruiser. i'll have a couple of friends helping out along the way so progress should be a little more constant from now on. i'll keep my fingers crossed.....

What type of "stock" GM adapter was used to mount the Atlas? Can you elaborate as to what is needed, if anything, to bolt her up to a TH700?

you can use a th700-np208 ( tall version 0 or a th700-np241 ( short version ). i like the shorty better. you will need to move one of the 6 bolt holes about 5/16" to make all 6 of them work. also, clocking can be an issue but that can be overcome with a d300 clocking ring. they can be bought on ebay for $50.

project isabel update: i have aquired a set of fj62 axles. also been collecting parts to go thru them; knuckle kit, wheel bearing kits, axle truss from marlin, knuckle ball truss kit from marlin, thinking about going to D44 studs and cones for the high steer arms ( just machined a set of knuckles for a buddy and they're bad-ass! ), trying to decide between 456 and 488 gears, need to save up for a pair or ARBs,...........

buggy update: selling the 350TPI, rebuilt switch-pitch TH400 and stak t-case in favor of a 6.0L vortec, BUILT TH400 and atlas 4spd case. the atlas should be here early next week.

and i'm going broke fast.
