Soo.. Is this gonna be a wheelin rig?

Texican, i think he'll have it. He said for the tailgate, there would be an additonal 3 inches, plus if he rounds it the way the rig is in your pic, i think he's right at it.

I read that.....
3'' ain't gonna do it, plus the LWB does not have the rounded corners shown in the pic, just tossing out my thoughts here........

I agree Butch, and don't mind the constructive takes on it. The extra 3 inches turned into almost 5" to make it all fit right. I will post some pics in the morning of the final but the extra length behind the rear wheels helped.

I don't think I can go Seafoam just yet. I was thinking Tan on Tan steel wheels.

Little bit of fabriction on those rear wheel wells, you could make the openings larger to fit the 38s and make it fit the shorter wheel base?

At this point Im not sure on the wheel well mods. They may or may not be needed. I will be running 6" Slee springs so we will see. I like the Taco wheels though I am leaning towards 17x8 factory look steel wheels.

For wheels you could also run the factory 80 steelies. They come in 16x8 and would hint at whats underneath

The Tundra "spare" steelie is 17" and very retro looking. Someone's running them on their 80...who?

I love how in your chit-chat thread, everyone is pissed off at cutting up a 45, but over here everyone thinks it's bad ass.
I think it looks sweet.

It makes me cringe, but then again, Gary's FJ62's getting 4.5mpg at Moab a few years ago did the same thing.

I wouldn't have done it, but more power to ya!

The truck wasn't that nice to begin with. It was already dissasembled and lots of stuff missing when I got it. Plus I need a fuel miserly vehicle to wheel with you guys. My 62, by the way, is up to 13mpg Hwy. and about 6 wheeling.
