not wierd at all. think about it. If that is a front center chunk (has to be DS drop) then it is probably a ford unit. Which pretty much means that it is a high pinion..
having a high pinion rear axle is a nice thing.. __________________ I am kinda gay....... My Myspace http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...endid=75712409 "Mary Poppins: In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. You find the fun and - SNAP - the job's a game." |

No, that mounting pattern is for the 1980 and earlier Land Cruiser rear axle... Somewhere in the sea of mis-information there is a mini truck links list that has a drawing of caliper brackets for the mini...I have seen it, cannot find the link... Good luck! -Steve |

That is what I figured. I converted my stock rear drums on my last truck and the bracket I made from drawings a guy sent me looked identicle. Do you know where I might get the drawings for the correct brackets to fit a mini flange? I have access to a CNC and a host of other fun metal fab toys.

This is actually the bracket that I used on my 40 when it had a tacoma rear axle (same flange as a mini.) Except, I had them made out of THICK steel and milled them on opposing sides for the offset instead of welding the pieces together. __________________ I am kinda gay....... Project may take a new direction. I wanted to run 38.5" tires or better originally but I was concerned about the local police being a thorn in my side. Now I have friends on the force so I now have immunity in this small town. I was also troubled by lifting the vehicle on such a narrowed set of axles (I will post pics to show you what I mean). The high pinion reverse rotation Ford center section and Detroit locker in the rear are solid improvements over stock. I am thinking that I might send out the rear axle housing and have both tubes replaced with longer stock and fitted with GM flanges and a custom set of Moser axles. Front end is still up in the air? I am also contemplating fabbing in a King Off-Road coil-over rear suspension with trailing arms. Seems like it wouldn't take much more time than relocating the rear springs. Any thoughts about doing any of this?
