Advice on wheel spacers.

Hi All:

Considering buying a pair of one or 1.25 inch bolt-on wheel spacers to use on the rear axle of my FJ40.

I see that there are several venders selling wheel spacers - Trail Gear, Marlin Crawler, All Pro, and others as well I'd imagine.

Anyone have any recommendations on which brand of wheel spacers are the best? Who sells 'em the cheapest?

Thanks much!

Alan

I picked up the cheapest set of 4 on Ebay. I've checked the torque on the nuts several times and never had any of them loose. So I'm happy with my set. They're all about the same nowadays so more important is making sure they are torqued and keep that torque. Just a little routine maintenance.

We have most sizes in stock, most of the time. The most important thing with wheel spacers is to properly torque them. Most spacers recommended torquue is 100 ft/lbs. on the 1" spacers and larger we torque them to 100-120 ft'lbs and red loc-tite them and we dont have any issues.

I ran 2" wheel spacers all around maybe from almost 4 years ago. They are from Marlin .. never had a issue with the nuts or the spacers itseld ..

Actually I blew a rear axle ( the long one ) at my turbo test and the spacer still there ..

I have 2" trail gear spacers on my 40 and had them on my mini truck with 38.5 boggers with no problems. Like was stated you need to put them on run them for a short time and re-torque them. You need to do this a few times to get them seated and then you are golden. I am a fan of trail gears customer service so that is who I would reccomend!
