Anyone seen these "Johnny Joint" type rod ends?

Got the most recent Speedway Motors catalog, and saw these in the back in the truck section. At $39.00 each they seem frighteningly cheap. On the other hand, QA1 makes pretty decent stuff. Anyone have an opinion?

Johnny Joints are about $39.00 as well.

the speedway ones are not even a real pic. That seems odd to me. But I have a bunch of parts from them and they have all worked well..

Yeah- the pic is computer generated in some way.

I thought Johnny Joints were something like $65-$75. My bad.

Poly Performance Inc.*::*Suspension Joints*::*Johnny Joints*::*Forged Johnny Joints® - JK Synergy Suspension Systems, Fox Racing Shox, Beard, CTM, Johnny Joints®, Currie Enterprises, Edelbrock, Total Chaos, Ramsey Winch, Walker Evans, Wilwood, Master

$44 from Poly Performance. And I bet they could be had cheaper elsewhere...

johnny joints!

The Original Johnny Joints are the way to go, Currie has them for $39.95 and they are a completely forged, one piece rebuildable unit.Just stay away from the welded ones.

hey guys I recieved my above mntioned pm, and I am reading this thread but at the end of the day isn't it all about quality?

What is the difference between the 4 or so joints mentioned aboved?

Quality? materials?

Quality is a good thing. There are other aspects to consider tho..

only 2 joints mentioned above.
The QA1 joints that I have no info about. And the lack of an actual picture does not make me feel good. But, I run QA joints on my 40 and they make good stuff...

Currie's Johnny Joints. (which Currie, Poly, MAD 4x4, TG and lots of others sell)
Good stuff. I am running one at the axle end of a wishbone 3 link on Bob. They are nice units. I do like the RE joints better just because of the threaded side. But I do not believe they make a forged, threaded end. Weld on only.. Which works just fine. I have 7 of them on my 40. Nice and easy to tighten over time...

I see there you said nice and easy to tighten up.

So the first joint has a circlip holding it together, does that mean once they wear out alittle the joint needs to be renewed whereas the adjustable ones can be tightened?

Currie makes washers tat are different thicknesses to make up for adjustments.

I prefer the RE threaded units..
