diff id?

anyone know a site that shows and tells how to identify diffs found a 80 1 ton chev crew cab 4wd ,i know it has a turbo 400 and 205 transfer case but wonderin about diffs? dude only wants a 100 bucks as it is written off. thought parts might be useful for a later project thanx guys any replies would be appreciated

most all chevy 1 tons had 14 bolt FF rears .

thanx i figured it was a 14 bolt, but the front diff is what i,m really wanting to figure out

Everything you'd evar want to know bout 60's:
Pirate4x4.Com - Extreme Four Wheel Drive
Dana 70 rears were also paired up w/D60 fronts in *some of those 80's/ early 90's GM 1 tons.

There is such a thing as an 8 bolt dana 44. Seems like a 1 ton probably had a d60, but...

if it is a 1 ton, it is a D60.

Unless someone swapped an axle into it.


Is it a dually?

truck is a single rear wheel it used to belong to my dad when it was almost new . it was a ex rcmp truck he bought it with a blown motor so i know the diff has not bin swapped in . i,ll get back to ya when i see it again, work getting in the way of my fun
