Help with decision

Wanted to get a few opinions from some hard core guys here on mud . I'm running an fj40 leaf sprung w a wb of 106" .It has poly rear axles ,Longs ,six shooters ,hub gears ,studs blah blah in the front .Running a FI 2F w/sm420 and 4.88's. I have a set of brand new 36" iroks on beadlocks and also have the opportunity to pick up a set of 39.5" iroks which would also be mounted on beadlocks . I'm entered in a local comp called The Island Cup . The terrain is pretty mixed ,Lots of rock sometimes covered w/moss but most likely wet (lots of right foot tire spinning type stuff). My question is , should I run the 36's (actually taller than a 37) and risk less breakage . Or get the 39.5's for the obvious advantages ? It is a three day event so staying in the game w/less breakage might be the way to go.

You've taken the LC drivetrain to it's max. already & unless you're runnin hydro-assist, I'd run the 39.5's. You runnin a 4 spd. case w/ some type of "saver" & full case lockers? What's a little breakage anyways?

Dude, wish i were around to give you and "Donny" a hand with your rigs! I've got the same setup with longs, gears arb's and new 36SX's etc... and was thinking of bumpin up to the 39 Iroks for those reasons. My only concern was with alot of those sections on the "fart" etc...where you need wheelspin over a little more height. Being able to turn the tires and leveraging those parts a little more for possible breakage is what i was worried about. Those Iroks hook up sick though!
Anyhow, i'm missing another event, so vids and photos will have to do!
Good luck!
