power steerig pump question - manafree alu. pulley

first off, let me start by saying that i have searched and made quite a few phone calls, even to manafre and they were'nt able to help. second, i'm not so sure that this is necessarily hardcore but the newbs in the 40 forum would'nt know the answer to this either.....

so here goes: i'm helping a buddy with a ps conversion on a cruiser with a stock 6 banger. he got the ps pump mounting bracket thru me from AA. same as BTB, 4+,.... and he got a manafre aluminum pulley for the pump to run the wider belt. the problem is that most pumps use a press-on pulley with a .750" diameter shaft. the pulley we got from manafre has a keyed .625" diameter shaft. and we can't seem to find the proper pump locally.
i did talk to steve-o at manafre and he was very helpful and professional as usual but he could not tell me the proper application either. manafre does offer the pump for $140something. i'm trying to find one locally.

so here's the question:

does anybody know the application or a part # for the pump required to run the manafre pulley?!

just to make this a little more fun, i'll send the person with the correct response a little trinket!

I did my conversion a while back and bought my pump/hoses off the shelf at a yard, no #'s, works perfect! Fast forward. Dont let your friends drive your Cruiser after such mod- you'll be doing theirs soon. So I start collecting parts to do my friends conversion... start looking for the same pump as mine...online, yards, catalogs, under hoods, everywhere? All to no avail. Finally one day the stars are aligned and find one that *will work* but needed hoses/or hose end and bolts. I go to look at their stockpile and one tries to stab me in the eye! pump/hoses/all bolts/stock bracket and all! It looks to be the EXACT same as mine! WOO HOO!

I am sure there are several that would *fit* the bill. What I really liked was the shape of the tank, if you are retaining the stock later air cleaner, and using the said bracket (4+,ect.) it allows for decent clearance and a stockish appearance- see pics

Not sure if different GM pumps had different pressures but... mine is awsome, I have a GM pump with a '84 60 box, 4+ bracket, MAF alum. pully, and custom hoses, no cooler yet.

Anyway, when I bought the second pump fourtunetly it had a tag on it, I finally found out the application if ever needed
It is off of a ...

The old sag pumps had a keyway and a nut to hold the pulley on (say pre 1970?).

FWIW,

I have ran several diiferent sag. pumps on cruisers and each time I specd a belt that was slightly wider than the pulley on the pump but didn't run on the bottom of the cruiser pulleys.

Matt

Just playn Its off of a '69 Nova. Obviously there will be a nut on the front of the pulley as well as a keyway, NOT the allen head! The neck is also rounded, not squared.

I bought the wrong pump for my Saginaw swap and have the pump you want. Advance Auto / Parts America part number 20-6000 is what you want. See my thread here. http://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series...dont-work.html
