Stretch and Dove

Well , the last time I wheeled I broke yet another 55 rear spring . I'm getting a little tired of replacing these 30 year old leaf springs with other 30 year old leaf springs so I decided to upgrade to 20 year old leaf springs from a 60 also decided to add a little wheelbase at the same time . I would have linked it but leaves are dead simple and I didn't want it to sit in the shop too long . I did have a few rust issues to contend with as well. I started this about a week ago just decided to post up. First step deconstruction.

Looks good Abel! Thats the straightest sheet metal that has been on that truck since you bought it! I'll be over in a couple days to check it out.

Nice clean work as always, still driving it too the trail or ya think the local mounties will give ya grief?

Gearing with the tranny low enough, running 39s with those axles?

Rob

Hoping I can drive to the trail locally but I'll trailer it for anything farther than that . I think I'll be okay with 40's as far as gearing goes for now and ya I'm gonna try to run the stock axles w/six shooters and hydro assist . Wheeled it yesterday amazing how much the extra length does .

I checked it out yesterday, the sheet metal is straighter than toyota made the rear quarters! Well, at least yesterday morning... there's gotta be some pitch embedded in the paint now though.
