Formula Toy FZJ80?

I just bought a 1994 LC 80 with F/R lockers for $800, it was a light roll(in DEEP snow), the body is however tweaked, I want to basically cut the top off, and have a cage fabbed for it, I have a good friend that does excellent tube bending work, throw some 5.29's in it, a 6" lift, some 37's, and go have some fun with it, I have not seen any 80 series that this has been done too, I have seen the mini trucks, aka Formula Toys, I was wondering if anybody has any photos of this being done, so I can get some cage ideas?

Thanks!

If you gonna make a " new body " why need a 6" lift .. ?

Just a thought, why not a mild 4" lift ( as much ) and runn the tire that you want with the custom body and keep the CG as low as you can ..

just my .0000002 cents ..

you dont need lift in a buggy/truggy/chopped-80-thing, just a grinder with a cut off wheel You could save a lot of time and sell it to me for $900 too

It should climb good with 2,000lbs less body on it

You'd want a little lift to give a touch more up travel based on the way the 80s suspension is designed. (IMO... I'm not an expert.) But 4" is a bit much...

Yes that is a good Idea, didnt think of that!, plus a 4" kit is cheaper too.
