My son helping me make spring hangers

If my dad would have show my how to work a drill press when I was six this build would be going a lot faster

The problem

Solution

The swap was pretty striaght forward. I only had to pop out a little plug for the new dipstick and seal up the new pan.
Factory Toyota part #'s:
12101-75060 Oil Pan, (T100 2wd 2.7L, 6 qts)
15104-75020 Pickup Tube & Strainer, (T100 2wd 2.7L)
11494-75010 Oil Hole Plate, (T100 2wd 2.7L)
15147-75020 Oil Strainer Gasket, (T100 2wd 2.7L)
15301-75020 Oil Gage (Dipstick), (T100 2wd 2.7L)
11409-75020 Oil Gage Guide (Dipstick), (T100 2wd 2.7L)
91651-60614 Bolts (Oil Hole plate), (4) Req'd
00295-00103 FIPG (Form in Place Gasket material)

I didnt see this anywhere else in my SAS searching though: there was no factory dipstick tube mount so I drilled a hole in the motor mount and we were done

The taco frame is a good bit wider and my springs are totally inside of the frame

I started on my inboarded shackle hangers

I think that they are some at least half-ass decent welds but I cant get my crappy camera to focus in on them for a good pic

My UA co-pilot checking the clutch and flywheel status.
FYI: Autozone was the only place that I could find a throwout bearing in stock without having to buy the whole clutch kit.

Safty first

It feels really good to be doing more righty-tighty than all the damn left-loosy that I was doing up untill now

Im going full hydro and Im not really that worried about the steering clearance issue right now. Im going to put one overload back in and run bump stops.

Even with pushing the front axle about 3" forward, its still eating the inner fender by the firewall. Im going to work on that tonight and fully burn in the suspension mounts.

I promise that one day the pics will be taken in the daylight and wont suck

I know that eveyone stays up at night thinking about the design for my tube bed like I do Well, no more sleepless night for you because there will be no more tube bed :shaking:
The original idea was to bob the rear of the bed becuase I want it to look like a truck and not a buggy. Then I figured out that I would have to bob the rear AND the front of the bed just to beat it to death and then replace with a tube bed. This was also when I saw the pics of the Ballistic Taco's sweet ass and wanted to do something like that. So the plan was to sell the bed and use the money to buy tubing.
Now, Im not sure if I like my rear springs or not and if I design my tube frame around them, it will be a lot of wasted tube, $$$, and time if I decided to swap them out. Between wanting to keep the factory frame for now, liking the look of beat down trucks better than buggies, and being better with a cutoff wheel than a bender, were are going with dovetailed bed skins.
I talked to my free labor/body work guy and he said he didnt mind helping me work on a bed-skins/ dove tail project that would probably be destroyed in a year, so game on this weekend.
. . . playing on the internet and making this decision is all of the work that Ive done to my truck this week

slowed down just been kinda busy I guess and lazy We started to come in to work at 6:30am and it makes my vagina itch when I stay up to 1-2 am and get up at 5:30am a few nights a week

We are supposed to go to KY in about 5-6 weeks so I really need to get on it and make at least one test run before we go. I think that four months for a complete buildup isnt too bad
