Here's a few pics of my FJ40 with 39.5 IROKs. I'm still running Cruiser axles, somewhat built. The front has 30 spline Longs and hub gears, ARP knuckle and hub studs, LockRight, etc. The rear is a Cruiser/mini truck hybrid with a centered diff.

If you're talking about mine (the green FJ40), it's holding up very well. I went on 5 wheeling trips this summer, 18 total days on the trail, and the only breakage I had was leaf springs. And I'm in the process of eliminating that problem!

The 30 spline Longs are holding up great. They have made it through several rev-limiter assaults on obstacles without breaking. I've had the entire weight of the Cruiser on one front tire going down into a washout, while turning, and it didn't phase the Longs. The rear is holding up fine also, I run stock mini truck axle shafts and a fine spline pinion with 4.11s.

The power of the V8 is nice, but it's honestly got more power than I need. The main reason I swapped it in was for the EFI.

R.K.

His rig is a little wounded from our last trip to Moab. Nothing serious, but he now needs new front shocks. I'll tell him to post pics. Get you're rig done and get out here, its time to play !

I love your Cruiser! Very capable, and still looks like a Cruiser.

I don't have a build-up thread, but I'll dig through my pics and send you some. The motor is a stock 5.7L Vortec out of a '96 Tahoe. I am easy on the gas too, but you have to get on it at times. With the EFI you have great throttle response and control.

My 39s are on 17" wheels. The first picture was from School Bus, the second was from Upper 2, the last was from the backside of School Bus.

I almost went propane, but i did'nt want to carry just 1 tank, and 2 tanks would leave no room in the back or a 40.
