I checked into recurved springs instead of lift blocks but found they would not hold up to a gooseneck trailer and constant towing.

What about having Alcan make a set of wicked heavy duty springs? Probably I nice chunk of change?

Run Air Bags in the rear to save the springs. Air Bags are cheap enough

If you use good quality u-bolts, keep them torqued and stay away from gnarly burnouts with the GN attached you should be fine. I have 6" blocks on my Duramax as well as my brother Megacab and regularly pull 10k+ with no problems. VCast iron blocks are only a problem without proper torque on the u-bolts. How many lbs do you intend to pull with the GN?

I took this pic on Thur.

All that was done at that point was the spots that needed to be welded were circled.

Today, I didn't see it in the parking lot, so some progress may be happening. I'll see about more pics tomorrow.

Wahoo!

Maybe they are making progress!

Can you tell if they replaced the windshield yet?

They shouldn't install the new windshield until the paint is finished. That way you can get paint under the windshield jam. I'm waiting for some finished pics!

That is what I asked them to do. Pull the rear window and remove the windshield and then paint as needed. They will be reinstalling a new windshield since the current one has a big crack.

New door installed and holes welded up.

That must have been what they were doing yesterday.

No change on the windshield though.

Why not do a shackle reversal or lift springs with air bags?

Yeah, I don't know what he was doing with the hammer. I think he had a sanding block in his hand when I checked on it.

MAN! That shade of purple you picked is awesome! And the rainbow fade (red-purple) Z-28 style stripes set it off like crazy!

But seriously, the new color looks great. Looks like they did an awesome job (as seen while driving by, didn't have time to stop)

So I wonder if new paint is going to improve the Mileage. 19.87mpg is pretty darn good though.
