I did swap out the springs and got the lift back.
On extremely steep down hill grades the DS still hits the drain plug.
I have to find a smaller drain plug.

I got a few things done this afternoon.
This is how the bump stop sits after 2 wheeling trips at my rock park.
The TOP of the front winch mount bumper/crossmember is 31 1/4" from the ground.

I called Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters and talked Spring rates.
I took the CS 003 spring off the Beagle Chariot..........

Bump stop looks real good.

Before with the new FJ 60 springs and after with the OME CS003 and two extra springs.
In the bottom pic you can see the springs I added.

So you are running OME lift springs now? Your lift looks about right as does the travel to the stop. Any pics of the truck as it sits from the side?
I'm curious as the build progresses on my FJ60.
Good thread.

Steering rods still have enough clearance, even when turned?

That rust colored piece of metal you are seeing under my steering arm is actually the spring plate.
The space between the top of the spring pack and the steering arm is 3/8" less than it was before adding the two leafs.
I will let you know if it rubs next sunday night.

I don't know what you are building but unless you are going to add an additional 600lbs to the front of your rig, you probably do not need the lift or the additional leafs.
I am getting axle wrap going down steep grades. The axle wrap is collapsing the springs.

OME
CS 003 is a lifted spring
CS 004 is a lifted spring and it is designed for 200lb extra load. (Bumper)
CS 005 is a lifted spring and it is designed for 400lb extra load. (Winch and Bumper)
I basically made a CS 006 and used them.
I will order a set of CS 004 and U bolts from Kurt this morning so I can put the Beagle Chariot back together.

It is all tight and secured. I was fighting daylight to get a picture of the completed assembly. I have posted enough night time pictures and they all sucked.

Looking good Dan. Do you have to play with your front shocks now ? Looks like a ton of up travel, just sayin'.

Im sure the front springs will collapse a bit the first time I take it wheeling. I will address the shocks after the springs have settled. At Cruise Moab I lost 2" of height just running the trails.

My 55 does the same thing. I dropped 12 qts of oil on the road. found out the hard way. Good thing it wasn't in the creek. I almost have all the parts for to 60 series axle swap. Stock 40, 45, 55, axles will not work with a 4BT. Even with a SOA.
Nice 45.

Had a few good friends come out with thier Built rigs and we made some new hard(er)core routes. Wheeling in the dark last night and right after breakfast this morning.
I lost 1/2" of height on the front bumper after wheeling and saw some steering rubbage. Time for a Cut N Turn.

Are the exposed tires going to cause you any grief with the LEOs driving it up to AK?

I dont know.
Istill have to remove the wheel spacers and install fender flairs and mudflaps for California.
I figure if it passes California DMV inspection, it should pass anywhere in the world.

How do you like the power/torque out of the 4BT and have you had it up to highway speeds yet? Do you know what your rig weighs?

I really like the power and Torgue.
I haven't had it on the highway for any length of travel yet. Gas station and back.
I will be getting it weighed this week.
