The rig is back at my shop. It was a painfully slow trip with two blow out on the trailer and my trailer lights did not work. It's all good now though.
I ordered more parts for the rig today.

I can't decide.
It will not be green, red or dark blue.
I like Mudracks rig and desert beige color. I don't want Gary to think I am trying to Copy his rig.
I really like the charcoal gray that Calico Kid has on his rig. It was never really offered as a color in USA but a few made it here.
During the FJ 45 Run I saw a FJ45 that I really liked. It was parked next to Skillet in camp. I really like that color but in the heat of the central valley I think I would literally cook in it. If you look through the 2007 FJ 45 Run thread in the trails and expeditions you can see it. Look for the guy cutting up firewood and it is in the background.

If it was mine it would be US Forrest Service green...that is if I could ever find the paint code...I don't know what its is about that color but I really like it...or you could go with 60's seafoam...also a cool color in my opinion.....keep up the good work...lookin great...

Respect! Great thread and a great idea.
I tried to do something similar and gave up. Glad to see you getting it done.
Ed Cook built that silver 45 with a flat bed pictured earlier (and a few others too), I think on a FJ55 frame and Kurt Grasso build the white ex cab FJ45 - that pic was taken at a CLCC swap meet back in 97 IIRC. He stretched a FJ40 frame and he also used Chevy rear springs.
Great idea to use a FJ60 frame and axles.
Keep up the momentum!

i don't think that gary aka mudrak would be offended if you painted your rig the same/similar colors. would be cool to see "twins" even though they won't be.
also, the charcoal metalic 45 at the event belongs to don aka nocents on here. beautiful rig and one of my favorite colors for sure.
did'nt we have trailer light issues when we picked up the donor 60 up north?! too funnay!
now get busy dan, we wanna see some progress pics!

Goodies from Mud Ship!
Big thanks to Fast Eddy for hauling the 8274-50 up to Stockton for me.
I was really happy to see that you did not bolt it to the front of your FJ-40 in order to ship it.
I'm glad that Euclid reconsidered the shipment of the Kaymar Bumper. I'm am now going to bolt it to the back of this rig.

I am going to have a fiberglass fabricator do it. I found a 40 top that someone had cut in half. I went to pick it up and he already threw it away. He thought I was kidding when I told him I wanted it.
I cannot bring myself to cut up the two good fiberglass tops I have.

The wife noticed that the seat was hard mounted and she could not reach the pedals.
I mounted the seat and seat adjuster.

The FJ 60 Brake booster is installed and hooked up. It was almost a direct bolt on. You have to elongate the top of the main center hole.
I ran the lines and connected them.

Kaymar is installed in the rear.
You can also see the mock up for the 20gallon fuel tank. It is right behind the cab between the frame rails.

This is the way it stands with the front springs installed with new bushings etc.
The windshield is just sitting on there with only the knob screws holding it up.
I will try to get some "driveway" shots today. It was kinda hard moving around before with no steering and no brakes.
