Dan, is there room in front of your steering box for a fitting?
I am contemplating whether to put the fitting on the top pf the box near the 4 bolt top cover or on the end of the piston.

The rod coming down in the top picture is the radiator suppport and it connects to the front right bolt of the top 4 bolts on the pump.

Here are a few from a recent disassemble.
I put the hole on the end toward the bottom to clear the internals. I am not sure if you could get over farther on the side of the box would benefit anything or not. I ground the toyota off to make it easier to drill.

Not quite what I meant Bret,
You can drill the ridge that is on top of the steering box instead of the end cap one. If room is an issue we could put it there.
I actually prefer to mount it in the end cap tho.
Looks like you have plenty of room Dan.

No, you still drill Toyota,
Instead of drilling the end, you drill near the top cap

Dan, Dusty ported his 80 sereies steering box (pretty much the same as a 60 series). he will be doing my 60 sereies for me. I can do it anytime I get back if you have that long. If in a hurry, give him a call and he can probably do yours quickly for you

I have been putting off the final assembly of my T-case and transmisison long enough. I had to swap top covers on the NV4500 since I did not have a shifter. Dodge dealer cannot look it up without the VIN number. The "Closest" they could come was $580 for the shifter assembly and would not gaurantee it was the right one.
Anyways, I removed the seats, unbolted the rollcage and lifted it about 6" in order to get ther tranny hump off. Now you see why I was dreading it.

I swapped the top covers with the other NV4500 I have.
I found out that my other NV4500 must have been rebuilt since the wear pads are the same condition as the new NV4500. SWEET!

So I didn't have to go through this unbolt the seat, remove the cage stuff again. I modified the tranny hump.
I picked up some weld-on tabs from FC Fabrication. After I cut the hump, I welded the tabs on the T-Case cover and then marked the holes in the transmisison cover and drilled them out.

I welded some 1/4 20 nuts on the back side of the tabs.

Reassembled for a test fit and to make a plate to cover the huge holes the PO made in the tranny hump.

New plate.
I originally cut the tranmission shifter neck hole almost the exact size. This engine will vibrate so I thought I would give it some more wiggle room.

Twin Stick shafts are in there for mock up right now.
Cage is bolted back down.

Reinstalled the seat with an adjustment so the Wife can drive the rig.
Maybe I won't have to cartch a ride with Woody at SnT this year.
I also had to raise it 1 1/4" so she could see over the steering wheel.

That is how she ended up with my CJ-8 Scrambler and my Diahatsu 4x4.
She drives my FJ 40 around the ranch but does not take it to town.
I will get some pics of her behind the wheel.

I am cleaning up the wiring and moving some things around in the harness. The starter, oil pressure gauge and the rear harness assy needed to be moved over to the driverside.
Found a few "Hot Spots" in the main harness in the process.

Installing the Dodge NV4500 Clutch master/slave assy is not a bolt on assy.
I got the idea for the spacer from Rockcod.

Chamfer the base plate to clear the rib. (Hold the Plasma Cutter at a 45 degree angle.)

Mock up almost done.
I now have to figure out how to go from a "Eye" to a "Yoke" on the pedal.

Done and bolted on.
It is built and designed by Dodge to point down. No, I don't know why.
Everything fits perfect.

My 1976 had a 1977 wiring harness in it. Once I figured that out, it was a piece of cake.
The clutch master is something I completely overlooked when buying my NV4500. If I bought a Chevy NV4500 and used my Chevy bellhousing and bellhousing adaptor, I could have used the Chevy skinny clutch and still used my stock clutch slave. Basically the AA Kit.
I instead used a 1-ton Dodge MV4500, Dodge Flywheel, Dodge Bellhousing, Dodge bolt pattern HD clutch assy, Dodge throw out arm assy, etc. Keep it stock, right?
I didn't know until recently that my Clutch master would have to be swapped out in order to acheive the longer throw on the Throw Out bearing assy arm for the HD clutch.
I should have it running and driving by Wed of this week.
