Going Under the Knife

The FJ45 will be going under the knife this weekend. Going to do a few mods so it can with stand up too the FJ45 run.

Dan, did you make those from scratch or did you buy from a different source?

8/73 FJ40, 4" tweaked front flipped extended wheel base SUA, rear SOA, 35 Cooper STT Discoverers, fully locked, 1.5" Marlin wheel spacers, 60 series power steering, just under 100" wheel base, full cage, 60 series ignition, roof rack and custome awning, Syrius sat. radio, and a whole bunch of electrionic toys to get GPS directions and keep me in touch with other rigs in case something like the movie "Red Dawn" happens.

You ever get your wiring figured out? Whats the exhaust situation on this? Your welcome to come up and use my bender if needed

Wiring is figured out. It had a short in the electrical side of the ignition switch.

Right now it has an open header in it. I need to find a flange and some tubing. I make make take you up on your offer. I think I need to install the fuel tank before the exhaust.

Ruffstuff makes a great kit. He just sends sooo many extra parts and not enough of others. Many need modified a little for each application.

I do not have the time nor the knowledge to duplicate the stuff he does.

Here is where the bottom of the front frame is now. When we started it was 33 5/8.

Steering linkage looks way better.




When we started the tie rod was 4" below the oil pan and under the oil pan.

righton, glad you were able to figure it out. no an un-common problem in 40s due to windshield leakage........
