I have a few used ones I can send. You pay shipping.

If you have a napa nearby I can't see the master being more than $50 bucks.

And just a note on the last pic,
The head of the drivers side rear passenger you can see against against the glass is a sleeping kid

Missed the whole thing

Those springs look happy, they're smiling.

So who was passed out in the back?

That spring got like that from rolling back down the ledge. It snapped back down when I got pulled foreward a bit.

The passenger shackle looks like a ~ but the spring looks no worse for the wear

I put the electric setup back on yesteday and we will see how it does in Hollister next week

sounds like you need only put your tstat back in every october and take it out in the summer.

Even if the tstat is working proper those things sure put a restriction in the cooling system. there should be a better valve to control flow than that found on tstats

It ran hot no matter what the outside temp was.It was cold and snowing memorial weekend and it was running 240+.Im glad I have iron heads as many times as I have overheated this thing since the body swap

My electric fans are on a thermostatic switch so that will help keep it warm in the winter

Not really an addict, its close, its open all year round, and a good place to go to get a wheelin fix.Not my fave, but it works when I need to get out

Goin to Hollister this week, the Rubicon over Labor Day,maybe a Coyote Lake trip in Sept, and Dusy all the way through in Oct if all goes well

Ran part of Dusy the weekend before last with the wife and the new baby in her FJC Went up with Weak-link n Freds40 and one of his daughters. My wife said I could do whatever I wanted as long as I didnt scratch anything you could see. This trip that rule changed to if its not painted I can scratch it.Good thing cuz I got the plastic on the bottom of both rockers

That's strange. What temp was you tstat? I wonder if you have blockage in the motor somewhere and the water isn't moving right with the tstat in.

Its a 180.I checked it and it starts opening around 180 and it does fully open. This motor has close to 300k miles on it and I have never seen it get hot until the body swap. With the truck body I had a less efficient radiator, less CFM electric fan,a shroud that covered less than 2/3s of the radiator, and it never overheated. Not even crawling at the hammers or in Moab in the summer.

The only thing I can think is that the engine compartment in the Chevy was very open with no wheel wells. The 55 engine compartment is very small and closed up

Next weekend will be a good test for it

If that doesn't work try a 190° thermostsat. My dad was having an overheating problem and went up. Solved the problem.

Just dropping in to say that you've created an awesome rig, and I am extremely jealous of both your fab skills and creativity. Looking forward to any future projects, as well as more pictures of this one!

I will still bring my flex fan along for the Dusy trip just in case

We could try to get my wife and yours to chat...

Note damage to door/fender (nobody snapped a pic of it on it's side!):

Note that it's her wheeler, not mine!

Back on topic, I must say that everytime I look at this thread it makes me want to copy you! One of these days I will find a 55 when I have some spare cash...

Thanks alot Being creative and just building cool stuff for a wheeler is a blast.I have a vintage race car project that I have owned since 92 that is on eternal back burner status due to wheelin rigs over the years So it comes down to Laguna Seca and Willow Springs,or Coyote Lake and the Rubicon

Maybe what it really comes down to is where I can drink beer

That could be it

The one pic so far from last weekend.Bump stops and getting the cage tied into the frame out at the front of the frame rails are the next projects
