Nope, the shocks are all just hanging. I still need to fab up mounts & may go with some shorter shocks so I can get them more vertical. Anyone have any 12" travel shocks that they would part with for cheap?

last weekend I blacked out the wheels and they look better, still ugly though! This morning I replaced the fusible link since mine was pretty rotted.

I've done a little driving & the hummer tires suck! I can drive 2 or 3 miles and they still have flat spots. Way worse than any TSL's I've experienced. I'm thinking 39.5" iroks or 38X12.5 tsl's. Won't be for a while though

Took the rig out for a test run last night. Ran very well & the low gears are AWESOME! I still need to build an anti-wrap bar, redo my york system to operate the front arb, build some bump stops & few other things. I think I'm going to bend the wraps over on the rear springs, since at droop it puts alot of stress on the main leaf. bump steer sucks, I have to figure out a high steer setup. I climbeb a 3' calleche ledge & bent my front fender up. Here's a few poser pics:

In case anyone is interested, about 6 months ago (& 30 miles after the build) the TBI350 developed a loud tick in the valve train & started running like crap. I tossed up a 4bt or 6bt conversion but after driving a chipped Duramax for the last 6 months I need some real power without the monster drivetrain & frame eating torque. I picked up a Built 385 stroker last Saturday (see pics below)

My plan is to run a 454 TBI & modified EBL ECM tuned to be able to pass smog & hopefully have close to 400hp & 440tq. It has tons of goodies in it & I got a great deal on it. The cam is pretty big but hopefully with the EBL it will be tunable.

Once that is done I have to address the steering & trim the fenders to accept some larger tires.

I can get away with standard valve covers with the rockers if don't install girdles. It looks like the tall one will clear the a/c with about 1/4" to spare

Full width?

Just wondering, did you leave those full width? I'm pretty sure from the pics, but you never know unless you ask! If so,what back spacing are your wheels? That is one mean looking 60!

Wimp

I have the same cam with larger roller rockers in my 302

Rondog..
It is full width still. I think the BS is somewhere between 4" and 5" But sixty will answer shortly.

Thanks for the compliments!

The axles are still full width & the wheels have about 3.5" of back spacing so its pretty wide. With the skinny military tires they extend about 5" outside of the fenders. Its pretty wide and stable.

Georg,

I'm planning on using what is called an "EBL" board ($360), which is a board that solders into the stock ECM. It eliminates the need to burn chips & speeds up the data stream by 10x as well as recieve a signal from a wide band o2. The 454 TBI has a heated spacer with a spread bore pattern and bolts directly to the Edelbrock manifold. All that leaves is to rewire the TPS & IAC. The forums on Thirdgen.org have TONS of info for modifying & tuning GM Efi's.

I've talked to the guys at Howell before & they know thier stuff. If I run into a major snag I'll give them a call. It amazing what can be done with TBI nowadays.

Whatever Ford EFI guy..... Everyone knows Chevy is better! You think just because you ECM can learn your better?

Turns out the cam I have is smaller. He gave me the specs on the BBC cam not the SBC.

According to desktop dyno with the cam that is suposedly in it, it should make about 370hp. I'm hoping for about 250-275 at the rear wheels. I'd like to verify the cam, but I don't have a degree wheel. I probably should while I have it on the stand.

Alper has a degree wheel and I have the caliper...

Want me to get them for you?

I love that your poor little 383 has a smaller cam than my 302 does

Cause a little 302 needs it :thefinger:

If you could get the degree wheel for me that would be cool! what is the caliper for? all I think i need is the dial indicator on a mag base.

Sounds like you're getting ideas of full width running through your head.

You mean where I outboarded the shackle & fixed ends on the springs? cuase the perches stayed itn the same place on the axle

Let me know what you want to see & I'll try to get some pics. I would highly reccomend going with a chevy/dodge front or 78/79 ford since they have less width between the perches any you only need to outboard 3" instead of the 4-3/4" that I had to.

Buggy???? Buggies are not comfortable in very cold or hot weather

Edit: Broken, you have any close-up pics of the cutting you did to clear your Iroks? I need to do some of my own when I go with the 38's or 39's.

Update...

The new stroker is bolted in with all of the goodies. I only need to redo my fuel lines & relocate the knock sensor. Then I need to save up for the wideband O2 and new ECM. I should be firing it this weekend.

hahaaha, I'll swap ya pics... I have a dodge 60 (actually d61) front. I'm considering throwing it and a 14 bolt under the 60 but I'm doing my best
