Could I bum a trail ride with you? (Razorback in ATL)

Hi folks,

I will be over on the NW side of Atlanta (Dobbins Air Reserve Base) for a few weeks while I'm attending some training. If you're looking for someone to join you on a trail within a couple of hours' drive or so, I'd be much obliged if I could tag along.

We just purchased another 80 (mint with e-lockers), and I'd be interested in some moderate wheeling as an excuse to get out and see some countryside. The hotel room gets a little old pretty quickly. I'd prefer trails without tight brush that would tear up the new daily driver, since I haven't even had a chance to go wheeling with the better half yet and put the first scratch on with her.

Regards,
Jon H.

One other thing, if anyone has any pointers on where to go to find some public trails within a couple hours' drive, I'd appreciate it.

beasley knob orv is the only public legal trails I know about in GA. But they are pretty hairy these days. Other than that there are some easy trails near lake alltoona that the GA cruisers have taken trips to before. I don't remember the exact directions to them but I am sure some does here. They are near red top mountain if that helps.

We'd love to have you on a trail ride with us but the only problem is I don't exactly know when the next ride will be. It will probably be more of a work day on some private property in Dawsonville but it doesn't look like we have a set date yet.

As for local trails there really isn't anywhere near Atl that is public property and legal to ride and everything that we do ride is mainly pretty tight were you will definitely get some scratches. I'll post up once we know for sure what we are doing for this months trail ride.

Hmm...I hate to be a wuss over scratches, but this thing is too pretty. Mebbe I'll just try to hitch a ride with somebody, if somebody's willing. Somebody?

I've never actually been in a Cruiser other than our old 92 (kinda new to the Cruiser lifestyle), so I would like to join you guys on your next ride if someone wants to go out on a limb to volunteer a seat for some random Muddite from Arkansas.

Cheers,
Jon

Josh, thanks for the hints. Are the Allatoona and/or Beasly Knob trails a tight fit, too?

I'm sure someone would be willing to give you a ride for the next trail ride. There usually are a few open seats.

If you’re worried about getting scratches then u definitely don't need to go to the trails at Beasley or Allatoona you will get your self in trouble both places with more then just a few scratches.
