Any 40 Owners in Tampa Area?

I've got a '76 I bringing back to good health and was curious if anyone else in the area has one I can use as a reference on things like the ignition, horn setup, etc. I've seen a few locally, but haven't had a chance to flag them down. I'm over between Citrus Park and Carrollwood.

There are several people in FLCA that are over in that area. I live in orlando and have a '76 but neither of your two interests apply... have 350 so different ignition and don't have a horn.

Take a look at the Florida Land Cruiser Association web site. www.flca.org.
Go to "PICTURES" in the upper left corner, then select "MEMBERS RIGS". It'll give you some name and locations of FLCA members around the state. If you are interested in contacting one of them, just post a note on the BBD.

Later,
Jerry Dixon,
President FLCA

Not too far from you - I'm on the other side of Citrus Park. What year is the 40?

Its a 76 but at the moment its just a frame and buncha parts. I'm in search of body parts bigtime, things like a cowl/tub/etc. If you happen up on any I sure would appreciate it if you would drop me a PM. I am not opposed to finding a full vehicle that needs some TLC as by the time I have the frame finished I can just swap out the frames under a body. Its a "project". The kind that may take yearssssssssssssssssssssssss. Hopefully not tho.

Hey Big Bore Lover,

I saw a FJ40 near Brooksville last year. It was between 52 and 50, on the west side of US HWY 41. Sorry, I lost the phone number. It has sat since the late 80s. It had lots of rust but you may be able to salvage the cowl. The guy was asking a ridiculous amount for the heap since it had a chevy 350 v8 in it. Maybe he'd part out the whole rig without it. I remember the back tub was all hacked up and had some aluminum panels replacing the wheel wells.

Mine's under the knife right now - rear sill, quarters, etc. - see my sig for pics of the process. I'd still be down for meeting up though - I have a 80 Series as well - stock. I have seen reefdesigns rig - very nice.

You think he has any 60 parts he might want to off?

I would be cool with meeting up sometime too. Maybe out by one of the causeways some evening or something like that. Post Christmas though.

Hello. I have a 78 FJ40 w/ 2F you can take a look at. Only thing not stock under the hood is A/C and a Mean Green alternator. If you see a red FJ40 in Temple Terrace, flag me down.

I need to see how much (if any) overhang the rear of the tub has over the rear of the frame itself.
