I'm just happy it's not hot. It's only around the corner and it'll be butt sweltering and my attitude tends to be inversly proportional to the temp.
I second the a$$ deep snow.

Yup.
Talked to mom yesterday [Upper Penninsula of Mich] and they have to shovel the roof today.
I guess it's a double edge sword...cause I sure as hell get sick of working "because" of snow...shoveling, plowing, firewood, cold car issues, salt roads, idiots driving, tourists on snowmobiles hitting trees drunk, etc.
But offset ALL of that with a stellar weekend of snowmobiling in the middle of nowhere and cap it off with a half day of deep powder and a snowboard....
Survey Says: I'll vacation home as often as possible!!!...and continue to complain when it LOOKS 80 outside but is actually only 40.
And I agree with Bret: The heat really blows. That month and a half or two where you don't even want to get in the Gulf because you literally SWEAT in the water. NASTY NASTY.
That's when we drive up to the spring fed areas and camp on the creeks. Wait for a good rainfall so the water's deep....still nice and cool [nothing beats a lounge chair on a creek sandbar napping all day in the sun]
Cause see...out there the rednecks don't mind a dog, a cruiser, and some beer.
Fucking Florida Yuppeeess.....[damn, I just bitched about 18 things...I'm ghey]

We went last weekend...hit LOW 30's.
I tell you what tho...I've got that new Browning Oversized sleeping bag and as long as I had the mummy head strung closed BOTH of us were warm as could be.
Now if ONLY I had remembered that air mattress.......

Yeah, bummed my parents and grandparents both sold the snowmobile cabins in Gaylord Michigan a few years back - really miss visiting and hammering that old race built Yamaha 486 and Pops Arctic Cat 600 - anything over 100 on a groomed trail is fawking awesome! Bowls are even better.
Kold - yeah it's all of whopping chilly down here, maybe 40 if we're lucky. But it's all relative - if we get surf, pull on a suit and paddle out before the sun comes up - I'm never cold doing that (even surfing the Poles in Jax years ago with purple hands and face) - it's all in perspective. Good surf and a sunrise makes it warm .

Three days in a row of glassy surf . Paddled out this morning at about 7 a.m. and it was overhead on sets, crystal clear water and blue skies, light offshores, with an air temp of 45 and a water temp in the upper 60's. South Florida Rocks .

It's been a long time since I've seen AFN commercials... Are they still the epitome of "good wholesome television"? I'm likely to find out here pretty quick.
Cheers and stay safe.

Damnit there I go again! Always spelling words wrong. I have got to stop the beer fest.
Plus I made fun of TJDIV`s bad weather and now look what happened.
It has rained for the last two days and all the whales died
AFN with wholesome television?
Yep as always.
Oprah at 0800, Dr Phil at 0900, at 1000 something, 1100 24, I think ,1200 last night`s Nightly News, 1230 Judge Judy, 1300 until I want to kill myself are soaps. Anything good comes on at 2200 or later.
Between all the happiness you can throw in all the military and invention info-commcials your little heart desires.
This is my last day here on Okinawa anyways. Tomorrow back to Pendleton to pack all my shit and head to the sandbox.
Good times, I tell ya, good times!
Best Wishes,
Randy
