my most humble apologies for not realizing that...
For I am a newbie.

BUT, I fixed it. Thanks Lucy_FJ55!!!

(now I just got to get those pics and figure out how to post...)

Ha! While fetching a picture of my lower corners of my Piggy, I just realized something...

...I don't have any corners! What an idiot.

I'll cruise the net and see if I can get a shot and present that instead.

[edit: mine is the picture of the Piggy in the snow in the upper corner, the best pic I could find
was of a Piggy in the snow. The body part in question is covered by the bumper tip. Notice the
sheet metal rolls under, then goes around the corner, ending just below the round red reflector]

You mean just the portion that you have highlighted in the last picture? You need that?

Hi Eshan,

Yes, the highlighted portion. And I am not alone, many FJ55 owners will need these and they are hard to fabricate...

Best Regards,
George

That can be made here. Can you measure from the corner forward to how lonng the length of the piece should be?

Is the portion highlighted the one that you need? Or do you need lager panels? Is this needed by everyone. I mean is the portion that was highlighted enough?

Hi Eshan,

This is a good question. I think this specific panel should be made generic, and should run almost all the way to the rear wheel well.

Each owner could then trim to fit as needed.

Many FJ55's have rust-through from the wheel well all the way down to the corner.

I would like to know what other members think?

Hi Eshan,

I found an underside shot of the corner area to show the extent of the lip. Note the notch near the rear valence would not need to be cut, that could be the owners' option. Perhaps a picture suggesting the notch, but better to keep the panel simple (photo used without the permission of owner):

This is very makable. However, I need a pattern to work on. I am looking for one here in Pakistan. If any of you could just make a single sided mold out of Plater of paris and send that in, it would do the job. I need just the rear corner to get the perfect shape in repro panels. Anyone?

I'm in for two sets of each side.

Making a mold will take a little doing - I'll be glad to try after I bring my 2 piggies out of storage in the next week or two and will have to pull a bumper. The DS on Wang is just breaking through and the bumpers on Arnold haven't been off since probably 1978.

Thanks for your efforts Eshan.

Harry

Lou-
Orient youself with regard to that raised lip. This is for the lower part of the front fender, where you would bolt a mudflap (sacrilege!) onto.

Seen another way (the other kid who makes the elephant), looking at the front wheel well, this is at the rear of the well. The raised lip diminishes to zero as we reach the lowest point of the well.

HTH,
George

Ehsan, noticed in the pirate 4X4 site that you had made complete fenders for the fj55 in 2005.........any chance on doing this again soon?....would much prefer the entire fender rather than a patch; but then a patch on a rusty old fender is better than no patch at all!

Yes. We did nake a set of whole fenders with the upper portion as well. However, we decided, at that time that we would not make any more because
1- We did not have a vehicle to test fit the fenders
2- It is too labour intensive and takes a long time to make. It would probably not be affordable once it is complete
3- I did not see much demand in the market for the whole fenders.

Ehsan, in my particular case and of course I cannot speak for others; I would much prefer the entire front fender made with a better quality steel than what Toyota originally had rather than weld good new steel patch to rust prone original stuff and see 4-5 years later rust begining again .........I plan on keeping my 55 at least another 20 years and don't want to go through this process again <LOL>that is why I prefer to use stainless steel fasteners with antiseize rather than stock toyota fasteners as have had to drill or grind too many out!; basically am lazy and feel better about doing it the best way possible the first time and not have to redo it later but in any case would rather have your lovely patches on rusty steel than the alternative!..on the same topic; how are the floor boards and corners coming along?
