I'll be through Seattle on the return in about the middle of July. PM me some contact info so I can call you when the time approaches.
As for '55 floors, I'm sure that Paul will gladly make floors so long as he knows what everyone wants. He prefers making the entire peice as per OEM. I WON'T be talking to him about it until he has my FJ45LV rear sill done (it's currently "in progress").

He generally sells through places like CCOT or others for the FJ40 stuff (which has a market many times larger than the FJ55 or FJ45LV). With the FJ55 unless we all get together and do a group order it probably won't happen. I'd like to see him make up things like the front fenders and rear quarters as I'll likely need them myself at some point in the future. Chances are this won't happen more than once.
Same thing happening with the FJ45LV. They are few and far between. I need some sheet metal as do others and since I'm nearest I went down to beg him to make them and now I need to see how many can be sold so we can keep the prices within the realm of reason.
The other issue is that many in the 'Cruiser community say they want the parts until the time comes to pay up. That is a source of immense frustration for anyone making the parts. This way he is removed from that and I don't mind ragging on folks to pay up for group orders or loose out.

Charles;hate to beat a dead horse but Paul has been promising a price on a set of floorboards since this thread began years ago ......and I have not seen a price or a set of floorboards yet ; kinda hard to commit unless you have a figure to commit to .........different from the pieces you have made up and that we ALL are indebted to you for........you did your analisis; gave the group a price; got commitments and better than new pieces were here...........is there anyway Paul<Lomussas> can give the group a price per set of floorboards?? TIA

I should have a price for floorboards by the end of the week. It probably should be a group order type thing though as it'll keep costs down.

OK, I'm at Paul's shop and here's the deal on the FJ55 floorboards. These will the the entire floor from the top of the slope at the drivers/passengers feet to the top of the step under the rear seat and from the pinch welds at the doors and are based on the '72 model year (the year of Paul's FJ55). Other years can be made once suitable examples of the floors are found. The floors will work very much like these http://forum.ih8mud.com/fj45-classif...tailgates.html for the FJ45LV.
$2000 FOB San Jose, Costa Rica.
We're talking about the price for rear quarters and front fenders as well and hopefully we'll have those in a few days.
If needed I can bring your truck down from Canada/USA if it is running for getting the floor, and whatever else, installed but of course that will cost extra though you'll save the crating/freight costs. It can also be shipped down in a container.
These are NOT waiting on a shelf for you to buy but are strictly made prepaid ONLY. Group buys will help on the shipping costs but as these are basically hand made there isn't much savings in making 20 at a time.

I think this sounds reasonable.
We should attempt to clarify what years have the same floor as a '72...

I have done a cross between 7/70 7/75 and 74 and I can not remember what else n2666s had. It was a crude look overall but the varience is predominantly between right and left sides (remaining constant w.r.t. side with exception of hump) and the rise curvatures going up to the hump and tranny cover. If you can cut in before the rise you are good.
So, I am like tired. In otherwords the tranny access / humps vary over some years particularly column to 4 speed. Ribs are different drvr to psgr side. Otherwise all very similar.
I don't know how folks are in the rain belt but most I have seen are just having big issues around the body mount and drain area. My paint is actually still excellent but I have a area of about 3 inches around the body mount that needs a patch. Not going for $2000.00 for that. needs to be some smaller production areas I think...my two cents.

Eric, thanks for the comments, that's what's needed since I can talk to Paul face to face right now.
Let me explain our thinking here about why we decided entire floors was best. We thought of that because all trucks will rust a little differently depending on where you are, how the truck is parked etc. etc. In order to avoid the "I needed the floor another 2" larger going in "Y" direction. Why didn't Paul make it larger?" we decided a full floor would be best and based that on what I found for rust when doing my truck and then allowed extra. I found rust at the front body mounts where everyone has it but also at the base of the step up under the rear seat. Check any lap welds and you'll likely find rust unless your truck has been in New Mexico for it's entire life. I've seen floors where the entire floor under the front seat is in rough shape. The first '55 we had didn't have front floors at all! These new floors would include all body mounts and stiffeners (not the hardware, just the sheet metal and steel that is part of the floor and any "captured nuts") attached to the floor both on top and underneath and would have all bends, ribs, lumps and bumps etc. as found from the factory.
I can ask about smaller sections but then we run into the problem of "How much metal do you need?" and trying to produce panels small enough to fix the problem without actually having the truck in hand. I'd think that patch panels would need to be at the buyers risk as far as how large they are since Paul cannot examine each truck. Pricing of course would then vary as well and would not be something where there is a fixed "catalog" price. It very likely will involve sending the section you need cut out of your truck to Paul so he can make it much like was done with the LV parts from "treerootCO" (Mike sent Paul the parts he wanted reproduced, the entire floor, rear tailgate and a few other bits and pieces). I did the same with the rear sill for the LV and I must say it looks good.

Any other thoughts? This is the time to talk folks. This thread has been going on for years and now the opportunity is here, lets make something out of it.

I'm going to assume that Marshall's picture is for reference of what folks might want.
The panel #58211 in Marshall's picture would be $600/side exactly as pictured complete with all brackets and supports on the front, FOB San Jose, Costa Rica. Currently Paul only has a '72 floor to copy so if you need or want some other year that is different from what Paul currently has then you'd need to send your floor to copy unless we can find a suitable one to copy down here.
Let us know if you're interested in getting some piggy sheet metal going.

Come on folks. You've been asking for these since '05 and now it's possible and hardly anyone is commenting? Is this what is needed/wanted? Should we price something different? How can we make this happen?

I definitely appreciate these efforts.
I also appreciate that my Pig lived its life in New Mexico (floors = good)
I think a faster moving part would be quarter patch panels

Cruiser-guy. As you recall sometimes a lot of us are not tuned in at all times. So, for example, I just emailed hendrix to check out your posts. Give it a little time.
As regards shape people can work around the hump rise, find older covers...that would be one set of options and / or maybe we can make up some profiles and have them sent to him for year model varience.
I primarily got involved in the past to service th 55 community and my gift was the floorboard shipment to Ehsan...as they say, no good deed goes unpunished. as the following customs guy can attest:
But I will go review my boards this week and see if I will be needing any.
need to PM n2666s as well.

Those are also available as described here http://forum.ih8mud.com/pig-parts-gr...ml#post4852821
If there is any other '55 sheet metal needed post up and I'll talk to Paul next week. He has asked if there is a desire for roof patch panels. They would basically be raingutters and the first 3-4" of roof all the way around, no price on those yet but I can ask if folks are interested.
