I for one would love to see pics of your spring over lift.
For Pictures: I highly recommend Google's free Picasa. They give you a lot of free storage for photos and you can link to them here.

Build Thread
When you pull up the FJ55 main page, on the left hand side just below Pigs Parts Group, you will see a small gray box that says New Thread and from there you'll be on your way. welcome to the Mud.

1972 FJ5524384 Current status deceased, I still have the carcass.
Was a 307 Chevy/3 speed/2 barrel carb.
I used it as a daily driver when I purchased it in 1985, while mud racing it I rolled it. It then became my budget racer. Manifolds were inverted with both exhausting out the right side of the hood, air intake routed into the interior which had been gutted and a roll bar installed.
This is the last photo while alive.I was overly aggressive (translation: STUPID) when jumping up out of a dry pond. It was approx 12ft in the air. FJ55s don't like landings. RF & LR tires blew, RF spring and front output on trans case broke, front driveshaft went thru the oil pan. The seat buckled the floor, the roll bar bent the roof. However the photo did make it into Four Wheeler Mag Ugly Truck Contest.
The 55 was then used as a flagpole base for several years at our mud race track. Muddy Run Raceway

long time reader, first time poster.
I bought a 76 FJ55 about two years ago.
Almost stocker when I bought her. she's got a great body, it would have stayed pretty stock but it already had a SBC in it. the mods are my sig.
This pic is from the day I bought it. I'll get an updated one on soon.

Micks piglet
When i was young i used to love going bush in my grandfathers 55 series. Watching sapplings disappear under the bullbar as we wound our way to a favourit fishing hole or sitting on the full length roofrack with the cousins squinting as the beach sand bought water to our eyes. He has since handed the keys over to me, it hasnt driven anywhere for many years but it has always been hangared. I've sand blasted the tiniest bits of rust from its panels and in the last 3 weeks replaced its aging running gear with something a little newer. It's actually sitting ontop of a 62 series chassis now, which had a 5L 1990 mustang engine in it, 5 gears, power steer, disc brakes front and 3.5 inches wider track. Its not quite finished but it looks great. I will post pictures soon. The idea was to also put the springs ontop of the axles but its sitting a little higher now so i might not be able to do that.
Mick

1979 FJ55
Truck is a 1979 FJ55 W/PS Vin # FJ55101136
Funny story on the truck, I purchased it about a year ago after having my first car a 1972 FJ55 which was purchased when I was 14 and underwent a 2 year repair before I was 16 and able to drive it, but I can't seem to locate any of the old photos of it, I am going to keep searching. ANyhow this truck was originally purchased by a Toyota Employee in CA and had a H55f/split case installed at the dealership. While it has been taken over by rust eventually "maybe" it will get back close to it's original shape, though after just completely redoing the top end and enhancing a few things she'll never be back to stock.
Here's a few pics...

We need to see pics of the H55/splitcase install.
What did they do to the trans tunnel and floorboard?

Hello fellow Pig owners,
I am new to the forum and I just purchased a 1974 FJ55. I am looking for a few items that I posted on Old Chub's album "wish list"
I also posted pictures of some of the projects that I am working on (e.g., gorilla glue to fix the pealing glove compartment). Thanks to Trollhole (Marshall) for posting this technique on the forum!
It would be greatly appreciated if you would let me know if you have any of the items that I am looking for. The items are posted on Old Chub's album "Wish List" and here
( http://forum.ih8mud.com/members/old-...wish-list.html)
1) Dome light
2) Front passenger and driver window regulators
3) right front turn signal light (cf., picture with this post)
4) License lights
5) Interior door handles (not the cheap ones from SOR ) .. . .yea I bought a set
6)Right front side marker light -complete
Thanks!
Old Chub

I was a member of the local TLCA Chapter in Dallas a few years back but relocated to Houston and now I'm here in Abq.
My past loves were a 86 FJ60, 78 FJ40, 2 96 80's and currently a 07 FJ Cruiser lifted with blacked out wheels and trim.
Hopefully I can meet up with some of you and share some ideas and tips, especially on 55's.
My latest project is a 78 FJ55 and she's in wonderful shape and almost ready for the road.
Here she is...she's in darn good shape for a 78 that spent it's life in Portland...I have used POR15 on the fender wells and floor boards, but overall she's a good runner.

Welcome ABQ Iron Pig!
My '74 55 spent most of its life in ABQ and then Santa Fe...
Are those Cruiser disc wheels? With GM beauty rings and Cruiser hubcaps?
