1979
Got her from Colby in TX, advertised here in IH8MUD about two falls ago (in fact, this is the picture from the ad).
All Stock (with A/C and factory P/S).
Fixed a blown head gasket last winter, and this winter I hope to patch up the body and take care of a pesky exhaust leak up at the manifold. Haven't gotten around to registering her since I need to have her smogged here in CA, so I want to make sure all is well first.
Needs reupholstering for a saggy bench seat, and I need to have the springs re-arched. Then last but not least need some new rubber, probably 33s. Eventually I want to bring her back to her two-tone former self (was white/green).

Sweet piggies! I think I have seen them both around (Forums and TT)over the years. Any lift on the green pig? Pics of the 33x10.5's? Are you running those tires on the stock rims? Hope you don't mind all the questions. Thanks.

My Ride
My '75 RJ55 imported from OZ. Pretty much stock (except for the Warn 8274 and the 33" Firestones) right down to the original paint.
Anyone interested in this PIG pls contact me ASAP. Last weekend I had to be towed back from our local desert - heard a knock in the original 2F and don't have the time to put her back in the shape she was in prior to this mishap. Right hand drive. 0% Rust. Re-sprung. New Koni's. New Tires. Rebuilt original 4 speed & transfer.
UPDATE:
I am an over the Big Rig (Flatbed) Driver now and don't have time to re-build my little piggy. Recently I imported a 5-speed tranny from OZ that I will sell with her. Asking $7500 OBO. Send me a private msg. for my address in North County San Diego and you can have a look-see.

Well I have just become a new "Pig" owner as well! My daughter decided that the '55 was not what she wanted to drive after all (she'll probably come around and see the light and want it back).
This is a '76 that we restored completely in '2003/2004. There is still some work needed that I'll get done over the next few months (probably I'll take the truck to Guatemala as a shop project just for this year to show the kids what can be done as a restoration and have them troubleshoot whatever minor problems crop up).
It has a rebuilt 3B diesel with a turbo, H42 4 speed, 3 speed transfer case, factory PTO winch setup (winch head needs to be installed once I get the bumper extensions), factory A/C.
Here is a thread on pirate about the restoration.
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=414794
I need to get the suspension done, my daughter is convinced one of the leaves is busted and the rest is just odds and ends to tidy things up.
It will likely need to be sold once it's 100%. I don't think the "boss" will allow 3 'Cruisers! I'll post up some pics here once I find my CD's.

Hello to all Newbie Here
Hi to all. My name is Brock Long, i'm located in Rolla, MO. I just drove my new purchase back from South Dokota. It was a 640 mile trip. Record lows and no heat, burrr
1973 1F 3spd on floor mostly original
I drove it 55 the whole way home, for good luck. This is my second pig, i sold the first one a few years back, i believe its in Nebraska somewhere now. New rig will most likely be a road/offroad combo, i don't plan on keeping it oem, just enough for both.
Anyways all is original(down to the rust) except for the rims and tires. Sure am glad we have a place like mud to fill in our blanks. Let me know if anyone out there is close to Rolla, it would be interesting to know if i have missed your rigs out on the road. I put some pics in here, two of the new ride and one of the old.
Nice to meet everyone.

Wayneraintree,
I like the 73 year much more than the old 72, just a few changes but enough to notice. I'm really not feeling the paint scheme, think i might go back to the original red/white paint scheme. It could be thats its oxidized too much to like though, time will only tell what the next paint scheme will be.

1972 Fj55
I bought it almost two months ago (sight unseen) and finally got it to California a couple of weeks ago.c It came from AZ and is pretty rust free but has its share of dents and bodywork here and there. It's a great 10' vehicle. I've driven it a few times but haven't spent much time with it yet because I'm concentrating on getting my FJ62 back to DD status for the Mrs. and then need to strip out the '85 FJ60 sitting in the driveway (parts soon to be available). I am however putting together my list of threads for possible improvement ideas once I get started.
It's mainly stock right now except
Weber Carb
Big A** front bumper (soon to come off)
Broken rear spring so it tilts to the left a bit
The BIG Plan:
Frame Off Resto-mod
Cummins/Isuzu Turbo Diesel w/ Automatic
FJ60 Transfer Case?
Modest Lift (mainly to accomodate engine)
P/S, Power Brakes,
Modern conveniences (Power windows, locks)
Bucket seats, 3rd row seating
Possible WVO Conversion
Whatever else I can think of since I'll be SOOO out of money and borrowing after the engine conversion!!

Mostly original stock except for paint and wheel. Resto in planning stages. Anyone recognize this pig? Any history on it would be great. It once lived in Marin, CA.

My Bush Pig
Pretty much a stock standard '55 other than the sunraysia wheels and it runs on LPG as well as petrol. One day I might do it a favour and do it up a bit...cos surely it deserves it....been a darn good truck.
I'm in Australia and mainly use it for outback trips....
These days it has a bull bar and HF radio equipped....

Just bought this 74 all stock "practically" rust free pig. I haven't even seen it in person yet. As you can see the PO riveted sheet metal into the sides to cover the holes. It will be fixed.

New 1975 Piggie - Thankful to have it....
I had the opportunity to buy a 1975 FJ 55 from a local club member. It has been stored for the last 7 or so years. Originally an Oregon truck and then went to NC. Records show it has about 85,000 miles but the odometer stopped at 74K. Paint is original and it has rust in the lower front fenders but very little elsewhere
I hope to restore it to its 1975 status. I need front headrests, a new dash pad, the long chrome drip rail side pieces and some other trim parts. Needs new weatherstripping too.
The PTO winch was added. Not sure if I am goint to keep it on. I also received boxes containing power steering components and the complete under-dash air conditioning setup.
It is nice to finally get to drive a pig rather than just look at it.

Your new piggy is looking great Randy! I so love seeing it driving down the street (FYI to others, we are neighbors)! If you ever decided to part with that winch, power steering and A/C stuff, please keep me in mind!
