Last tagged 1983. Got the engine to brake loose after being locked up. Fixed a couple wires due to varment and poured some gas down the carb and she fired right up. Future plans is a semi restoration due to how dry the body is.

No pics yet, I'm working on those soon. I bought my pig off a fellow USMC vet. The price: $24.95. It is in good shape seeing as it has been sitting in a field for 10+ years. Just ran a fuel hose through the fire wall, cleaned the plugs and put in a new battery. No brakes, but who needs them with 4 low.

Owners Name- John
Year 1979
VIN ????
Email duxburyclassics@yahoo.com
State FJ-55 resides- Massachusetts

Swapping out original front seats for cushy buckets TBD. Keeping it RHD. Need to fix the A/C. Removing the propane set up. Planning on rebuilding the 2F since I'm having compression issues. Here's mine. SBC 350, stock 4speed & tcase. Later DB front axle. AAL's and 33" MT's. She's beat up and ugly, has some rust in the usual places, but everything works and it will make a great family 'wheeler... I'm not looking for a beauty queen, this pig will see the road an trail year round.... eventually.
The engine is sweet, custom built by a speed shop in Mass, the receipt for it is nearly $4k and the dyno sheet peaks at 287 hp. I plan to tone it down a bit actually via the carb, get it tuned right so it works well off camber. Take it easy for now then upgrade the axles own the road.
It needs/needed some work to get it ready for the road and it's nearly there. I can't wait to be DRIVING it regularly.
I'll update the pics soon, these are from when I got it home.

Owners Name - Chuck

VIN - FJ55...
Email - charlesbecker@mac.com
State FJ-55 resides - currently Oahu, HI
Any Modifications
Rebuilt F engine K&H Import Repair
Rebuilt 3 spd
Rebuilt Transfercase
Some kind of Man-a-fre add-a-leaf shackle lift
Receipts indicate an Aussie 40 front disc brake conversion
Interior is in pretty good shape. Exterior in suprisingly good shape, This 55 has only been in Hawaii for 4 months. It came from LA so rust is surprisingly minimal. I haven't finished totaling all the receipts but it has had approximately $8-9000 worth of work done to it in the last 5 years. Most interesting was that some of the work was done at TLC in Van Nuys.
I am keeping this thing FOREVER!! There are some items that will need to be worked through but its all part of the fun.
Future plans:
Get back to the mainland
Diesel swap or V8 or 2F (can't decide )
5spd

Yo, Farr off road,
Do you have any specs or better pics of the front bumper on your old red/black FJ55? It looks pretty cool from the profile. Just like getting ideas for future mods. And, are those IPOR rockers/sliders or did you fab your own on that pig? I love the orange paint job also!
Thanks, Carlos.

Both front/rear bumpers and the sliders IPOR made and installed. So Lance should still have those specs. Here are more pics and I included one of rear bumper too.
Here are some pics of another bumper I did. I don't know about you but I like to see as many different options as possible !
So what do you think??...I love feed back even if it's not possitive !

Newbie Intro
Hi folks,
Newbie here, and first post...
Owner's Name: Virgil Kelly
Year: 1975
VIN: FJ55051382
Email: vkkelly@brier.net
State FJ-55 resides: West "By God" Virginia
Any Modifications: Crane Cam's Electronic Ignition, K&N filters (air and oil), Remote oil filter, ridiculous "no fear of deer" bumpers, hood pins ("Does it really go that fast?"), front bucket seats, complete EGR bypass (CA residents are green with envy...), side mounted "outside the rails" high flow exhaust, Suntune Mini Tach, Inside spare mount, rear heater moved to under driver's seat, Bearcat Scanner and antenna, Aviation antenna for Hand-held transceiver, and the ubiquitous Lev-O-Meter.
Shown in picture is 33" Dunlop Dune Rovers on 11" wide rims, which have been replaced with Yokahama Geolandar 31" x 10.50"s on 8" wheels. The Dunlops are reserved for having fun on coal slag piles.
The '75 Pig is my daily driver.
In the background can be seen a near basket case '71 Pig. After seeing some of the "projects" here, I'm having second thoughts on parting it out. It has more potential than I thought...
Looking for an FJ 40 in the $5K range for my wife. Her '86 Toy PU is tired at about 250K miles. That 22R sure is a great motor, tho'... I digress...

My dog, Pita, thinks it's her Land Cruiser.
I became a TLC fan upon meeting Jim Hixson (of local fame) in 1984. The '71 was his last TLC (rest his soul) and the '75 is my first. I don't think I want to drive any thing else!
Future plans are to evaluate the condition of the engine (seems really strong, but I need to do a compression check) and rebuild if needed. Then, on to body work, replacing quarter and rocker panels and repainting to the original red and white (There's a lot of Bondo in her...). Then, a Warn winch, a roof rack, etc. etc. etc. ... SOR and Iron Pig Off Road will become rich...
I have many questions, but intend to read the FAQ before embarrassing myself. I look forward to corresponding with you folks, and the many new friends I hope to make!
-Virgil

I think they are early to mid 80's Toy PU seats, but I'm not sure. That and a few other mods were made before she was mine. The buckets sit on rather hefty pieces of angle iron that rest upon the original seat box foundations. Makes for a much better ride height. No need to peek through the steering wheel, not even my 5'2" wife, Retha!
Makes the arms rests way too low, however.
Thanks for the kind welcome! And an awfully clean sty it is... And what are all these boulders for?
-Virgil

Hi All
New owner since a week. One of the few original European ones I think. Bought it in Switzerland where it started life as a fire truck.
1977 stock and in pristine condition. Getting it ready for Dutch roads and the only thing it needs are 8 steering arm seals

Will Berry
1974
Bought by my parents in 76
SBC back in 77 or so
Goodwrench in 98 or so
Less rust than rotten rubber
Toy dealer air
31x10.5 for now
Add a leafs in rear, maybe front too
Still in the teardown phase of the buildup.
Most of the metal looks usable, except maybe the left fender, which still looks better than the Pacer that smacked it.
