tuffy box?
I'm baaaaaackk!
My 40 is parked and waiting a Vortec installation. Which will start very soon. In the mean time, I am getting ready to replace my 40 w/ my 55. The 55 has been idle for the past two years. When the headliner exploded ( fell apart) I was so depressed about it, I parked the 55 and drove the 40 as much as possible. Now that the situation has reversed, I am working on the 55 for a daily driver. Being honest, I like the 55 a lot better than the 40. The 40 always, gets a lot of "Nice Jeep" comments, which I accept at face value The 55 gets those stares like "What the hell is that?" Which, in itself, is a great compliment
So now, I have some nice, nearly new, bucket seats to go in the "Green Giant". Along with those seats, I what to put a tuffy box between them. The best I determine, I can fit 10"-12" console between them. To help me along, what size are you guys using. Or, is their something equivalent to a Tuffy console?

Hey Bill,
I have a 9 3/4" wide Tuffy console I bought off Ebay a while back, never used. The PO lost the key however I was going to use it but it's a little too wide w/ the seats I used. PM me if interested. Here are a couple pics:

Tuffy in a pig
I run a Tuffy 033-05 10" stereo-compatible console in my piggy. It not only fits perfectly between the seats but is at the perfect height to be a very comfortable armrest. While it is stereo-compatible I have my stereo mounted in the dash. My CB is attached to the front of the console as is the switch for my front locker. I loved the froont mounted cup holder; unfortunately I had to remove it when installing my doubler setup last year- it interefered with the doubler shifter. Here's a couple of photos.
By the way I run 85 4Runner SR5 seats- extremely comfortable- mounted on a custom square tubing frame. I have full storage space under the seats. Gary S

Sweet! That's the one I need, but in black.
Is the mounting frame 1x1?

Welcome back Fang. I'm sure you've seen my Tuffy console, it's the 10" black model with the dash unit inside. 2 cupholders...
Fits perfect between the Camry buckets, sits on 1" square.
There is nothing equivalent to the Tuffy box. CCOT says they have one, but the quality is not the same.

I am running the same size tuffy but have a set of procar seats from Ironpig Offroad with their seat bracket they sell for the 55. Fits perfect. But I do believe my overall size is closer to 9" wide. I can measure if it helps. Great arm rest. I put the drink holder in front of my shifter. But I have different shifter location due to running the lexus trans setup from a late model lx470. But the setup works and works well. Not to mention it just looks good.

Lance does good work and is a great guy.
I am pretty sure the 10" will work between my pointiac seats.

seats and console
I agree there is nothing like a Tuffy console. Well built, great quality and extremely strong. Good looking, too.
My seat mounting system is square tubing 1" on the horizontals and 1 1/2" on the vertical posts. Gary S

Mine is a 10" console also. Fits perfect with Nissan Altima bucket seats.
