Something on my mind.. 70 series ARB Bar on a 55

Old thread linky from eons ago......

The question is what is the width between headlights if you were to cut or tweak your frame.

Anyone tried it?

That is a good question. I have been wondering the same thing for quite some time. I'm not to the point were I need one but good info for when I get to that point. To bad no one has tried it...or at least if they have they are not on mud.

have you check with the guys in AU? They are more likely to have a owner that has a 70 and a 55 in the same garage...how cool would that be

OH...the only forum that I have been on is outerlimits...might be worth a shot.

Does anyone have distance between headlights of a 55? This was the biggest thing I was worried about personally. I know it will take considerable fab and/or modification of the bumper and possibly frame horns (that I was planning anyway).

thanks guys! andre

Headlight spread on a 70 series is 30" inside to inside.

Jeez..Andre. I was just measuring this the other day between my 75 and my 55. I was curious to know if a ARB bar would fit on my 55 as it seems like other parts off of the 70 series just kind of work.

The frame mounts are close....I think within about 1". I'll have to remeasure but I remember thinking "Uh, that is pretty close".

The headlight spread is what got me. The 55 headlights will be shining right through the vertical uprights on the ARB bar. If someone really wanted to, those could be moved and the rest of the tube work be redone. It would take some effort but it's doable.
