I'm a dunce. Owned my pig for 6-7 years and just found out last week that it should have a carb cooling fan? I guess school's open daily-ESPECIALLY HERE!. Thank you, everyone. I hope to be securing a fan shortly, and know that the wiring appears to be intact, as well as the relay. All I lack here, now, is knowledge- as if that weren't a given!!! So, can anyone tell me where that fan should mount in my 55? And please, can someone tell me if an overly HOT carb will cause a RICH condition at idle and 2500?

OK, you are a dunce. Welcome to the club. Do you NEED a carb cooling fan?
I don't have one, but I have seen one or two. Usually mounted on a bracket on the left inner fender. Sorta pointed at the carb...
