can anyone post a pic of what the dash looks like especially all the knob controls etc? I think one is missing on mine so gonna get one made to replace it. Little stuff like that drives me crazy.
Thanks in advance

So are you ditching the spring over since it is illegal in your state? Looks like a nice pig. I would put the exhaust out the side and turn it down a bit as it will help the blow in. Also, don't forget to bring it to the East coast pig run in August.

I read through the laws and apparently there is a mathematical formula to determine max lift requirements. SOA specifically isn't illegal apparently as it is basically max 4" total lift over stock height (lift and tire size combined for the total 4") This has spring over on the front and spring under on the rear.
Either way I did some digging and found a Toyota specialist who is very lenient on the inspection regs as long as it's within the height requirements.
Checking with my state police friend again.

Went to get my Pathfinder inspected and my mechanic guy said he'll pass anything old as long as the lights and brakes work. He said any other violation type stuff like tires, lift, bumper etc he'll just deny if the state ever comes back to him after citing me for it. he'll say it was all done after the inspectiopn which is fine by me.

Pig arrived today!
It's not idling well and I believe it's the timing. Fixing that tomorrow
Truck has AC!!! The PO said it didn't! Nice.....
36x14.5 TSL Swampers, rear locker, oem rust, 4 wheel discs, nice interior
Rust is in some body panels but not too bad. Disappointed on the condition of the rubber gaskets for the glass and doors.
Overall very happy!!

Yeah, rides a bit harsh on both ends. Don't think the right springs are on there

You will get it figured out. That long Pig wheelbase with the right springs rides nice...

the shackle angle is crap and the axle isn't centered in the wheel well. Also, the front spring hangars have booger weld so I'll need those fixed up a bit. Ahhhhh....the joys of pig ownership!!

Is it possible those springs are 40 springs? They look too short to be stock or aftermarket springs.
The garage looks a lot different when it's not full of parts from Australia

I'm 99% sure it's 40 springs. Kina has some 55 springs that should fix it up.

Odd things? Contrary to others, I like the color. Will this be a DD? Looks like it's built more for offroad with the locker and tires. Does it have PS? What's the wire routed out the driver's door, or is that an illusion?

Not a DD. More like a mall cruiser but will wheel it a couple times a year. i really like the color now. It's 1999 Toyota "Copper" metallic.
The rear springs are fugged. One side is 2 inches lower than the other. Called someone and they calculated out that they are actually FJ45 pickup springs due to the length. Wheel isn't centered in the wheel well so I knew something was up.
No PS yet but I have 2 steering pumps here. need to figger that out too. it's almost undriveable with the tires and no PS.

You buyin?? Either way I'd like to do the PS and still get skinnier tires. I live in a small town where the cops have nothing to do but pull people over for not having fender flares. 14.5" width is goofy but it looks cool

Got the carb back together yesterday and it idles really nice now. Had clogged everything inside.
Dropped it off this morning for a new exhaust system and to have the booger welds on the front spring hanger cleaned up. Worst welds I've ever seen

I never said I was gonna sell it??!!??!?? I said I would sell the tires as the cops locally will pull me over constantly without fender flares.
I have 2 PS pumps here and need to figure out which one to use and how to do it. I have a few friends locally that are more mechanical than me so it's on their schedule. PS is definitely going on very soon. No question!!

What is your bumper height from the bottom of the bumper to the ground?

It's 30 inches
The MA DOT has a mathematical formula to figure out max lift height. I'm over that by 3 inches. Plus the tires stick out the sides with no fender flares.
My original mechanic who said he would pass anything wouldn't do the inspection cuz he was worried he'd get fined by the state if I got pulled over. He told me about a small place in Medway that will pass anything so went there and got the sticker

Gotcha. I'm riding at about 27 and I haven't been able to find out what the limit is in NY. All the info I've found says 24 or 30, but the info conflicts.

I was driving it yesterday and looking down the drivers side hood I saw weird designs on the hood under the paint. When the light catches it right, there is Japanese symbol writing down the length of the hood. Obviously the PO didn't sand it down before he painted. It;s faint and can only be seen in the right light.
Anyone remember a pig that had a hood with Japanese lettering on it??? Seems like something people would recognize/remember.

do a search - I've seen a few (very few) pics on MUD before about that...I think the writing was on the lower, driver's side of the hood IIRC.

My hood used to have strange Kanji lettering on it.
This hood is still hanging on the wall of my shop. Actually, I have a red one and a black one.

Realy.....I wonder what the story is behind all of that. Mine was right along the edge of the hood and each symbol was prolly 6"x6" and there is about 5 of them/
Might do a pencil rubbing of it to see if I can pull the image off of it
