Summer Of The Pig
I got this pig 2 summers ago, the 1F motor had been pulled, dissembled, bored out, and was ready to go back together.
I wanted to go back with a diesel or a 2F, and have all the body work finished, seats recovered, etc. before I started driving it.
But my little 94 Toyota pick-up burned to the ground about a month ago. So I was left with the choice of either buying another truck, or dumping my money into the pig so I could start driving it.
I choose to dump the money into the pig.
I have several short threads from everything from diesels in pigs to dumb noob questions, I thought it was time to start a build thread and keep all my questions in one place.

My kids took a couple of days a stripped down everything they could get off. Seats, lights, exhaust, etc.
Got the tires from Okie_dave so i'd have something to roll it on. They are still holding air.

i am missing a couple of bellhousing bolts, the two at the top and screw in from the back.
anyone have any extras they want to sell, or a part number on them, does the auto parts stores have bellhousing bolt kits?

The typical fix for those rockers is to cut 'em out & replace w/ 1 X 3 or 2 X 4 3/16" wall tubing or maybe Iron Pig Off Road : Toyota 4WD experts has made another run of their sliders ready to weld on. I used 1 X 3 & braced to the frame & left about 1/2" from below the door sill to weld to. I had to refab the front & rear areas of the wheel wells too:

just out of curiosity, when you cleaned all that up, was there a bunch of bondo there? i've found three cruisers with a bunch of filler on their rear pillars.

no bondo anywhere, i had one red door that was layers upon layers of paint. but no bondo.
rain gutter is clean, front driver side floor has some rust through, rockers are shot, and passenger front fender has a hole.
i think you might have been the one that told me about the rockers being shot, i tried to find the post but couldn't.
one thing i did find when i was wire grinding the gutters.
there is some kind of body filler that i have ground out of the gutter, and i was thinking i should refill it with something.
would do you think, fiberglass, bondo? it looked oem but i don't know.
edit: of course this is not the gutter ground out, it is the stuff before i got started good.

the stuff in the gutter is seam sealer. available at napa, or any auto paint store. there's also some between the aprons and the front fenders. probably in other places too, but i haven't noticed.

ok i know i am suppose to get the fsm. and i just can't remember to make the call during business hours.
and i know this is approaching king of bum-dum but i think i have a semi electronic ignition (i didn't even know there was such a thing)
i found my distributor, but couldn't find any points.
here is a pic of what i have.
this is what i found on sor when i was looking for the right part to order. (cause i thought i needed to order points)
i have never hooked something like this up, my old '62 dodge and '75 power wagon had points.

To get to the points yank the red thingy (rotor) off. Then pull off the metal disc. There are your points.
No help on the fuse...I hate electrical.

I cant tell colors from the pic of the fuse block, but if you look at the right side, you will see that there are two groups of three fuses. One set is hot all the time, the other is ignition hot.
Connection of the loose wires depends on what circuit they are for, and whether the top or bottom group of three fuses is always hot.
things like wiper, heater, blinkers, etc are ignition hot.
headlights, hazards, brake lights, are constant hot.

that makes sense -
do you know if its the top block or bottom block that is ignition hot?
edit: two loose wires that should go to the fuse panel.
wire one is one wire a red one with a black stripe
wire two is two wires both blue with one connector
sorry i should have put wire color with first post
