thanks it is the only one i could find, i quess i need to get a new one.
i now have a working clutch, working brakes, coil is mounted.
i also need to find the throttle cable, i thought that would be a no brainer, but i have two cables that do nothing, they may be rusted up and one of them is the throttle.

I would recommend a new throttle cable, SOR.com has them for cheap.

Probably fuel cut-off solenoid.
I don't remember what year your Pig and engine are, but they were manual choke for quite a while...

When it comes to vacuum lines, your best bet is to have a vacuum schematic handy.
I know some years had a decal on the air cleaner. If you do not have this, use the F engine manual or emissions manual.

that does help
i did not know there was an emissions manual.
Duuhhh. that would explain why i couldn't find it in the engine or chasis fsm.
thanks again i'll check the air breather and hood for a diagram.
wish i could get another weber, i know folks don't like them. but i desmogged my 40 and went from 13 mpg to 18 mpg in a snap.

there wasn't a whole lot of emissions on the early models, so there may not be a book, but for the mid70s on, there were separate approximately 60 page books for all the emissions crap.

so i go buy a solenoid for the pig, this is what i got. i can not find on the schematic where it goes.
and i can't find on the fender well where it goes either?
do we use these kinds of solenoids or is the only one the one on the starter?

arrggg i think i was using the wrong schematic
i think i found the right schematic, but i can not find the BW wire or the W wire labled on the schematic on the pig, i guess i need to grab a circuit tester and start tracing wires.
i think this is the schematic i need, so can i take the two post fender mounted solenoid back?

ok here is the starter
i did have the black white wire to attach
the schematic shows that there should also be a white wire, the only wire that i think could go to the solenoid is red (but it might be an aftermarket patch by the po) i am guessing the white wire should go to the screw in the yellow circle

sorry
everything i ever worked on (short list) had a two pole solenoid. i can not find one in the schematic, or anywhere to mount one under the hood.
the barrel of parts that came with this puzzle had the battery cable running straight to the starter.
so i am trying to figure the rest of the puzzle out.
shematic shows one battery cable, one "BW" wire (black with white stripe) and one "W" wire (white)
i think my white wire was replaced with a red wire by the previous owner.
so the main question is, am i on the right track or is there suppose to be a two pole solenoid inserted into the puzzle somewhere?

There's no remote solenoid on these. The wires go directly to the starter. It's all good..............you'll get it.
