I thought they would be good to make tire steps...you know those chi chi things that you can step up on to work in the engine bay more confortably...without denting in the top of your fenders

make a good present for the cruiser guy that has everything already...is there such a person? no pun intended

Two things.....do the fog lamps come two to an order or do you have to order two? AND have the brackets parts number changed? My dealer says that the number that I gave them is no good. (I read it and re-read it to them!) Thanks all....

Brackets are not available from Toyota. You need to get them from MOT here on mud.

Fog lamps are by the piece.

Mot the Mud nickname of a very dependable Mud member who lives in Japan (I think). A stand up dude.

I have an idea. I called back to the Wellesley Toyota guy and asked him if there was a way for me to get online and search the inventory of whats available. he said no, that I;d have to give him each part number individually for whatever I wanted to check.

My idea: each person takes a section of the truck and writes out a list of parts for their local dealer to check ie one person does seats, upholstery, etc, another does dash, another does body panels, another does glass, another does door parts, another does fuel system, another does rubber pieces, etc. Each volunteer picks a section and makes one post that they continually update as they get feedback of what's available and what isn't with valid part codes and prices and inventory amounts (parts are either in California or Japan warehouses.)

This way we are all equally bothering many dealerships but in smaller increments. It wouldn't be fair to call my local dealer and give them 2000 part numbers. If we each did 25-50 parts then we could have the whole truck covered quickly and have a definitive reference.

I believe toyoDIY.com has many part numbers. If we can hand parts dept people a list and let them pick away at it during down time over the course of a few weeks it'll be done for good. We'd only have to do this once.

Thoughts??

If you go to toyodiy.com and type in your vin number you can search all the part numbers. you could very well print the page/diagram with the parts numbers on them and drop them off at a Toyota Dealer for them to check. This might be easier than I thought!
