BJ55 ham w/B - introductory post

Hey ya'll
I live in Cochabamba, Bolivia. I've been skulking around the forum for a while. I have the option to buy a BJ55 w/ a rebuilt B mated to a 5 speed.
1) Has anyone put on a turbo?
2) What is the minimum compression that should be looked for in kg/cm^3 or psi?
3)Does this engine have skirt cooling?
4) If so, what did they end up with for gains?

To all you wags out there, yes a 15B-T would be optimal, but I'm looking for a low cash alternative

Thanks,
Ben

Howdy! That would be the first real, factory issue diesel Piggy I have ever seen. Go for it. That would be one Hell of a Pig! I'm sure you can rig a turbo on it, somehow!! John

Here is a link from the tech section that should be able to answer most of your questions....if it is a 3B, it has the piston skirt cooling.
