Gauge Bracket
Ipor made this custom bracket to attach the gauges to the stock dash pad. Came out great. Next up will be installing the Ram Jet and H55 setup.

Lou,
Your Pig is looking better and better every time I see it. I really love the guages.
The seats look great I can't wait to see the interior start to come together. Do you know what you are going to do with the dash? I had seen one that was dyed that looked really nice. But seems a little risky. I know that I would like to do something about the door handles so maybe if they turn out nice the dash would be next.
Ryan.

I dunno if I'm alone in this, but every time I see a Landcruiser so close to salt water I just cringe...
Things are looking good there Lou! I bet you can't wait to get it done and on the road. I'm looking forward to seeing it all completed.
I dunno if those FJ vents would match the pig's styling very well, primarily because the pig is so angular, whereas the vents would add a lot of roundness, which I think would look out of place.
But that's just my opinion. If that's what you like, then go for it.
I do agree that the stock FJ55 Dash leaves something to be desired, and IMO isn't as cool as the FJ40's dash. That's something else I may look into customizing, though I'm pretty project-heavy at the moment.

Dash Plans..Anybody!!!
David
I thought you where an artist in your past life, not a designer, I guess they do go hand and hand. So its back to the drawing board with something a bit more angular. Anybody have a cool design for the 55 dash? I bought this cad software and have to say I'd have a better chance of becoming a master welder before I figure how to use it, BTW haven't welded since.. long time ago!! So let's see some dash idea's, anybody!!

Floor Mat
I was checking out TLC's ICON site and they talk about a woven vinyl they use for seat covering and floor mats, its called Chilewich, I picked up samples , and may use to replace my factory rubber mat, which is ripped up..The first two pic's are Chilewich, the other two are also a woven vinyl molded on a rubber back, Both products come in at least a dozen colors.

More Pic's
This one feels more like rubber, the Chilewich also has a rubber backing.

That is indeed Evan's FJ55. Probably a couple years ago, before he put the (IPOR) sliders on, at Pismo.

Engine is in!!!
Its been worth the wait. Lance and his crew installed my Ram Jet today, got the whole thing wired, skid plate, and the steering is done. Should have the drive shafts in early next week along with gas lines and custom stainless exhaust.
This thing could start next week

Vents?
Lou I'm not sure what vents your talking about? If you mean hood vents then you must have a crystal ball because its something I have thought about to help vent hot air but have never written about it. Let me know, thanks

firewall
Thanks, the firewall was speedlined in Cygnus White it came out ok, looks better in pic's but I'm not complaining. I ordered two sets of the narrow vents. The large vents would not work due to the raised portions of the hood which is 6 1/2 inch max, so i might use the narrow vents end to end or side by side, it should help vent, just not sure how they'll look.

Vent Pic's
Nothing new to report on the engine, I'll get down to IPOR on Thursday and take some new pic's. I received the vents today and shot a few pic's on the hood of my IS350, They'll look ok painted white to match the hood.

New Pic's
Lot's of good stuff to report. Went down to IPOR today to check out the Piggy, Lance does great work! Power steering completed with a Borgsen steering shaft, Big skid plate, Front floor supports, the left ft was opened up from inside the cab, treated surface rust and closed up, Right ft was completly rebuilt. And a few shot's of the engine. Lance was ready to start on the exhaust and have it running for the weekend, but it would still need to have the a/c installed and a few other things and I know he wants to attend the Smoky Mt event and has to finish three or more trucks that plan on attending, so he'll finsih my truck after that. It will start before the end of the month.

Lou,
That is awesome. I love the way the Ram Jet looks in the engine bay. I didn't have a chance to make it down yet this week, but it looks like you got some nice pictures.

I'm pretty excited, its was nice to see all the work they got done last week. The stack of parts that have called the back of my truck home
for the past year are gone. Your truck is almost done, they were running wires and I know you still need some part of the wiring harness
to complete the wiring. What year LX or Landcruiser works, Lance indicated it's a resister that cannot be purchased but comes with the harness. Would a totaled LX or Cruiser work. I can check with our bodyshop regarding totaled trucks, let me know. We've got to get you done! Have you checked with the Mudders?

Lou,
This is the first I am really hearing about the Resistor. I think it might have something to do with the Tundra inline fuel pump. I am surprised that there is parts missing, I was under the impression Lance ordered the fuel lines, and fuel pump directly from Toyota. I am going to head down there tomorrow and see what parts they might need and then I will be searching high and low.

Hey there,
I was reading about your vent idea.... just wanted to point out that I had ambient temp issues in my pig's engine bay with TBI 350 at first.. then I switched from the solid side apron vents to the ones that are actually vents and the problem ceased... I also moved a couple electronic parts away from the engine and to the inner fender which helped. Since then, no issues... mis dos centavos..... sweet build BTW, so clean....

Jeffrey
Thanks for that info regarding the side vents cus I really don't like the look of the vents but there's a local company called Area 51 they have
a machine that can cut and stamp vents in my hood like the 40. The only problem is they don't answer the phone and don't return phone call's so I have no idea how much that would cost. Did you cut your factory side vents? Obtainable already cut?
Thanks
Lou

Lou, as I stated in PM, the side vents (actually vented ones) came on some pigs... not sure of the designation or production dates.... but here is pic from SOR:
