sadly, selling my 55 for parts
1970 FJ55 for sale.
Regretfully, I must offload my pig. Like many others, I had grandiose ideas for restoring their pig. But some shody machine work and either a cracked block or blown head gasket have convinced me to sell the rig and regroup.
Bottom line, I'd like $800 for the whole thing. I've been pulling and selling bits and pieces but it's still mostly there (front heater blower is gone, original carb is too). The truck would be a great donor of body panels, for it is without any rust. Rear corners are both dented as is the driver door, but otherwise it is straight. Under the hood is a brand new 36/32 Weber carb, F-engine (see above), a rebuilt 3-spd tranny in good shape, and transfer case. The wiring is all shot but I put in updated electric ignition from a FJ60.
I'll consider parting it, but I much prefer to sell it whole. I'm in Albuquerque, NM. Please email me mhsimonds@comcast.net for questions. I'll be posting pics on picasa soon and will update post when I have.
UPDATE (1/28) - Weber carb, distributor, ignitor/coil sold.
UPDATE (2/1) - instrument cluster, dome light, heater core, DS window reg, dash cluster, speedo cable, rearview mirror. Sold
UPDATE (2/6) - Side mirrors, 4wd emblem, window cranks, interior door handles. SOLD

If you decide to part it I'd like the lower fender complete with lights, turns signal and emblems.

Are the turn signals stock because my 1970 has the round ones, not the rectangular ones. PM sent.

I have the stock rectangular turn signals (see pictures) but the FynWynsFJ40 has referring to the circular reflectors below the turn signals.

They should still be rectangular...unless he has round ones left over from an earlier fender/pig(68-69). My early '70 pig also has the stock rectangular reflectors below the turn signals, just like yours. Hope that helps.
He probably does have stock reflectors, his rig is probably a very early '70 pig which would explain the round reflectors being carried over from the earlier pigs (68-69). Now I'm curious...
I apologize for the thread hijack...continue the slaughter of another pig.

Didn't they go right from the side mount (68/69) to the square?

Well, they went from the side mount (68-69) to the rectangular (70-73?) then to the square ones (74-80) found on later FJ40s. Is that what you meant? I think that's about how it went.
OINK!

I am looking for wiper arms for my 55. Do you have a set that you are looking to sell? If so, pm me and let me know what you want for them.
Thanks,
Goebs

L & R Vents on Front Quarter Panels (top part)
Was wondering if you still have the front left and right "silver vents" on the front quarter panels? If so what kind of shape are they in and could you give me a price? Are they easily removed w/o damage? Thanks.
