Been moving my mom every day for the past week and working all night as well. This week was worse than death wrench 2006 when I decided to paint the 40 one week before CM06.
I'll round up the parts and get them in the mail for you. Did Steve tell you I was planning on taking a vacation out to MN when my mom called and told me she was moving.
oh and that bumper looks great!!

Canada's closer.
I *have* to get back to Kenora to see my family this summer. You'll be getting a visit from me as well when I do.

Kenora's only a couple hours north of me.....swing on down, assuming they'll let you across the border

Alright kids... I'm going to take the task of creating a set of PDFs for this thread. It will be a single PDF per page since with all of the pics it's gonna get quite large anyway.
Keep tabs on progress at http://www.miletwo.com/buckroseau/.
First 10 pages are already online.

factory frame stretch
Okay...pics are hard at night. I really need to shoot this in the day with additional lighting, but you'll get the idea. There is a splice "cap" that runs all the way to the tubular crossmember in the front. In the rear, it angles up just behind the bed mount. That area on mine is painted black, so it really blurs out in the dark here....

Oh, and a bitchin FJ45 that may or may not be for sale.

The area I'm referring at the rear is in that last pic. Do you see the 50 degree angle or so reflecting on the frame just in front of the spring hanger? That's the rearward angle of the splice.

Little bit done on the lv tonight.......bumper and glamour shots
Got home after work and went to work on the bumper. S.S. carriage bolts shoulders were turned down to .510" in the lathe. They fit the rear bumper holes perfect, very tight but a couple good solid hits from the heavy hammer they set in just right. Got all the bolts tightened on the bumper then tighten down all the bracket bolts on the frame.
Wife came out and popped in the rear back up lamps, that was pretty easy, about a 30 second job. I had brought home a new reciever hitch with a
3 1/2" drop, seemed about perfect. Bolted on a 2" ball and figured I better give it a try?
Had to run out to the airport where I had my jet ski's stored....getting hot so it's time Friend of mine was out there so talked to him a while. Also got a few glamour shots, hope you guys don't get sick of them? Few pics of the trailer hooked up also.

I see what your talking about on all the pics, Thanks! I suppose if a guy wanted to apply himself you could easily fab one out of a 40 frame. With the aftermarket steel, glass and aluminum parts you could essentially build a 45 lwb from scratch?
Not sure if I want to try that hard yet?
Thanks, Matt

On another note.....I need a piece of rubber like this. This would be a x-section view of it. I'm thinking something like this would come in a roll or something.
It needs to be rubber, not open or closed cell foam. I have looked in a lot of books I have at the store, but can not find anything even close.
Anyone have a source for something like this? I will need about 15 ft.
Thanks, Matt

Is it just me or does the rear end look saggy under the weight of the jetskis? I know you were talking about springs a couple pages back, but just wondering. I'm not even going to comment on the rest of the build because I can't add anything to what's already been said, just incredible.

I think it is also....I also think those Parabolics are weak. It doesn't seem to take much, although that is all the further it can go, it is now hitting the helper spring.
I think the jury is still out on parabolic springs.....but unless there is some updates to the problems I have seen and others have also......I'm chalking them up to a pyrimaid scheme
Just my 2 cents....Matt

looks like I'll get up there last week of july for two weeks. I might get up there sooner for a day or two to help my family ditch me in 2 weeks.
definitely send me an updated list. looks like you have the taillight assemblies now. I'll pull them anyway.
also i just figured out from a photo of mikesta's LV that it has the original front bumper and recovery horns.

I like the rear bumper looks great. And yes I see the squatting that you mentioned at the rear......it seems more evident w/jet skies in tow.

now that you see that with only a little weight the parabolic springs are not up to the task, what would you do different so i can think about what i should do to my lv?

i have a possible source for 1/4" rubber, but it is in sheets. do you think you could cut with a utility knife well enough to make the piece you need? does it have to be a continuous 15 feet? if no one knows about the web site you should. i think it is incredible. it is called McMaster-Carr. i have found so many things and all you do is click and it arrives in the mail a couple of days later. http://www.mcmaster.com/
do a search for Polyurethane Rubber, or triangluar rubber, but there are tons of options that may work for you. good luck.

You guessed right on me being in computer biz, I own a software/design company. It's not too much of a hassle, and I hope to be done soon with all pages. After they're all finished, I'll put the whole thing on CD for anyone who wants one.
Good work on the bumper! That thing is SWEET!

It has a little rise on the trailer, but not much. Those are also 12" rims, a lot of the tandem axle stuff I will be pulling has 15" rims so the trailers will be a bit higher and should be more level. They do make more drops, but I think this drop will be about middle of the road for most everything I pull.
