Shipping would be more than I'd pay. And I don't think '77 springs would fit on my '65. But thanks, I can just get some overloads made here at a local spring shop.

I don't exactly know how much, I haven't wanted to depress myself, but I have an idea.
I guess I could say I've been waiting since December. I really didn't care when I was driving it around. I've owned it for 2 years, it was my main transportation.
Those springs aren't the smoothest, unless you put about a ton in the back.

Got to love it. That is just so I acn drive it on to the trailer so that she can go to the paint shop. It's stripped down to the tub now and is sand blasted.

Its not worth 5K with that chev motor in it. But I would be willing to save you from any further embarisment and give you $4500 + taxes and bring it up to Montana so you would never have see it again. I could be there by noon.
Most excellent find and purchase. you have the envy of most on this board.
I stand by my offer.

Those cross supports were not Toyotas best design nothing but traps for water in the front ones with holes in the top of the bed to fill them and the back ones were open on the ends and rotted from the inside. If not to bad I would clean them out and seal them with POR, Ospho and plug them up.

yes, that's the bug-catcher window. the pull for 4wd is correct, it's vaccuum activated.
what stumps me is the knob on DS next to the windshield lockdown. what is that for?

Knob on the drivers side is for the plow pump. Pull to raise; push to lower IIRC. My uncle had one like that on my first FJ40...
Nice truck!

I've never posted any photos on mud, so if this doesn't work I apologise in advance. This is the 1978 FJ45 which was in the article I wrote about in the Jan/Feb 2005 issue of Toyota Trails. I traded my 1997 HZJ75 pickup for her, even up swap. It's all-orginal, unrestored, from the factory tool kit to the Nippon Denso AM radio.
It's not totally rust-free, but is pretty close. There's a couple bubbles on the bed and a couple on the driver's side door, but other than that it's in way better condition than most 78 40 series I've seen. And I've never in my life seen a stock, unrestored bed in this good a condition.
"Rita" isn't a wheeling rig, she's too pretty, plus the stock one ton suspension doesn't flex until I have about a ton or a ton and a half in the bed. She's a reliable daily driver with about 179,000 kms on her. Jumps to life when you turn the key, and everything works perfectly just like off the showroom floor. Lord knows I have too many Land Cruiser projects, so it's nice when all I have to do is change the oil and filter every 4000 kms. I did have to replace a wiper blade last weekend...

Guess I jinxed her when I posted up here...yesterday I noticed fluid coming down the inside of the firewall under the clutch pedal, and paint bubbling. Sure enough...leaking clutch master. So I pop the hood to check the reservoir level, which was fine, only to find...
The brake master is puking too! Pumping from rear res to front, overflowing out the top. Also, turns out that the brake master is a non-USA special 'cause of the front drums and extra large bore. And on top of all that, my 71 fuel tank is still leaking and last night I talked to the dude who *was going to* sell me his good condition used tank and he hasn't even yanked it, let alone shipped it. Grrrr
