You got power steering? Any lift?
I wanna fit 33 x 10.5s on my troopy, that will eliminate any steering arm rub, but I'm also looking at fiiting 60 series power steering which should also take care of need for massively, muscley built arms to physically turn the wheel .

She's pretty much stock mate, apart from an extra passenger's side door which must have been installed shortly after manufacture for something like a mining or remote area ambulance... I dunno.
Suspension's stock but solid. I'm about to put a 5 speed from an HJ75 in this weekend. I've got a thread started on it already. I bought an HJ60 a while ago which I'll steal the power steering and disc brakes off when its rego expires. Future plans are for a camper -style setup with bed and plenty of storage space. Something I can just jump in and happily drive to any corner of this big island in.
In my opinion, these vehicles are some of the best ever built. I freakin love my troopy

G'day everyone, here's a pic of my 1980 HJ 45 trayback that was taken in '05 or '06 I think. Unfortunately the rust has got to it in a few areas now so it's all going to be cut out, plus it's undergoing a 60/75 series power steering conversion currently.

This is my -78 HJ45. It's an old firetruck from Denmark. I have a OME 2" lift + a 2" bodylift, Aussielocker in the rear axle and a ARB locker in the front. PTO with winchrope (2,5kg instead of 15kg and much better to handle) Recaro seats, with suspension on driver side. Right now I'm running on 35x10,5-15 Simex tyres (I guess the real dim is about 36 by 12,5 )
Plans: replace the H engine and gearbox with a 2H with turbo and automatic transmission, my problem is that the 45 is 12v and the HJ60 (the donor) is 24v... but I guess I'll find a solution..... perhaps not.... will see

You'll love the power steering once it's done, the conversion has given me a few headaches during the install (combination of 60 and 75 series components) but the end result is fabulous, it's a pleasure to drive now.
