I sent you a bunch of info with dates, times and contact numbers via Facebook as that seems to be working best.

Again, what is the status of these? Are they in transit or still sitting in that "pretty" crate doing us no good? Hate to sound cynical but until you post some info all they are is a box of fenders in your back yard.

Am working closely with the shipping company on this. Apparantly we cant find flights to Montana. We will be shipping to Washington and there on the box will travel via truck. Thats the option the shipping company is working on. Will hear back from them in about 10 hours from now. Charles will be getting his set in Central America direct.

entertaining thread......

I can understand frustration on everyone's part, but we never know what people may be going through at the other end (either end).

-cheers

I do not think anything has left the country yet bc we would already have seen a bill of lading or something showing that they are headed our way. This has been the problem so far, we are told the pieces are shipping, but they never seem to actually make it to the airplane. Not sure why that is happening, very frustrating to say the least. Pretty hard to restore one of these old trucks when you cannot get the parts you need and have paid for.

I don't know what shipping company you are using, but FedEx can certainly get these to within two hours of 3-Puppies' place. When I used to fly for a company up there, we could pick up a shipment and deliver it to Missoula (MSO) before 8:00AM that had left south Asia less than 36 hours earlier. It was actually a pretty common shipment for us (apparently golf bags are made of fabric produced that far away). I have no idea what it cost, but these were bulk freight shipments, not simple high priority packages.

They fly a jet into Great Falls, MT (GTF) every day (except Sunday) that connects literally to anywhere else on earth.

Like I said: I have no idea what shipping company you are using, or what prices FedEx charges for this sort of thing, but it might be worth checking into.

This is what Charles and I have been trying to say for a long time. Just get it done. Those things could not weigh that much and there are companies that do exactly what DanS here is saying. With a phone call. I have had stuff shipped before and it is picked up and the entire process is handled very seamlessly.

DHL charges $560 to ship one soft top and bows from Pakistan to the US. The weight is approx. 75 lbs. FedEx charges almost twice that amount. I am not sure what your box weighs, but I would imagine that it would cost a lot to use FedEx. Maybe he can try using DHL if there isn't a weight limit.

The problem here is that he has told us the cost, I don't know where the price came from but it was allegedly for air shipping of only our parts to Montana. We paid his shipping price for air so it would come quickly over two months ago and it's still on the ground in Pakistan!?!?

We were told earlier in the thread that these would be on the ground in Montana now but they are still in Pakistan as far as we know.

The problem here is that we've paid what we've been asked to get things happening and they have not happened. THAT is our complaint, not the price for the parts or the shipping but the lack of action and lack of forthcoming information.

x2. Charles has it exactly correct. Heck, if they had been put on a camel's back they would have been here by now.

I'm not questioning what happened, I was only suggesting another method might work.

Let me explain. The shipping company gave me an estimated cost the day I sent them an inquiry for this shipment initially. When I contacted them to do the shipping they came up with the issue that we cant ship direct to Montana.
Right now They are working on a schedule by which the shipment will go to Washington and then truck to Montana.
Charles. I will send you yours to Guatemala. Just email me your complete shipping address there (ehsankiani@gmail.com)
People. I am doing all I can to get these to you ASAP. I am putting the pressure on the shipping company for that.

For F**k's sake, USE A DIFFERENT SHIPPING COMPANY!

In all seriousness, I bet cruiser_guy or merbesfield could arrange the shipment faster from US.

Eshan, what is the address of the closest FedEx or DHL center? Take the package there. I bet cruiser_guy or merbesfield could arrange the shipment from a center in the US, and have the center in Pakistan WAITING on you to take the package to them. Just an idea...

Its not DHL or FEDEX that we are going through. These guys are way too expensive for shipments to the US now. We are using companies that deal port to port.
Again. I am trying my bet to expedite this. I am traveling to Karachi (that is the other end of the country) just for this purpose tomorrow.

How was your trip to Karachi?
Did you sort out all the shipping manifests?
Did the canvas tops and other parts end up shipping to the United States?

Thanks

Destin
