Rig Of The Month Interest???

I have been slack in my moderating duties, so I guess it time to put this out to the 45 guys(&gals?) and see if folks want their rig/build threads setup as a rotating Rig Of The Month??? Between Buckroseau's 2 and a few others I am sure we can get a good list started...

Sign up here, and I will tally a list. First Come First Served.

Here's the deal: Everyone likes pictures of progress and projects. Be sure to include some before during and after shots. Basic details are required, and of course be sure to include tricks, tips, lessons, etc.

Since the swb has been 'done' for a long time, you can put me at the head of the line.

November

I will take November if nobody else has beaten me to it. That will give me incentive to finish by then!

I'll put my '84 Troopie HJ47 in for a truck of the month spot if I can. I have owned her since Oct. 1996. I brought her to the US in 1997, and have since made many improvements to her. I had her turbo-charged in Melbourne, but eventually put in a brand new Vortec 350 in 2000. The engine runs the factory power steering and air con from the Chevy compressors, and sits in front of the factory H55F 5 speed and a transfer case from a 1987 60 series with the 32mm idler shaft. I have 52 gallons of fuel and 10 gallons of water on board, and a 1200 watt power inverter, fridge, sink and storage. The seats are out of a 1995 SR5 4 Runner, and she has OME 2.5" springs. I put 3.73 gears in her in 1999, and she goes 80 MPH at 2700 RPM. On the freeway, with the cruise control set at 80 and the air con on, I average 21.5 MPG- which is about what I got with the turbo-charged 2H. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos!

Cheers,

Josh

Anyone know where to get the mirrors that are on Josh's rig? I realize AU, but a source?

Actually, the mirrors are from a J**p Dangler. I put TLCA stickers over the J**P stencil, but otherwise they are great. I bought the right one in the US, as it is convex for distence on the passenger side, and I bought the left on in Australia, as is it also convex for distence on the passenger side. They don't vibrate, they cover a nice-sized area, and they are cheap to replace.

Cheers,

Josh

Throw me in the mix as well. It looks like September is still open? That would work for me and it's the month of my birthday.

Now..... which 45 should I post up first?

come on

I dont think that no longer having it should disqualify you. You still have their story to tell. And maybe the new owner will chime in with progress made by then.

disqualify - I've looked it up. I will keep it only if someone isn't biting at the bit to boast about their bad ass cruiser. I do have a story....... long and would like to share it... but dont want to bore anyone. I've had 4 FJ45lv's and 1 LPB. If others can agree with your theory, then I would be happy to share my experience, if not... NEXT!!

besides, you wll be following me in November, and at the rate I am making progress this hot Phoenix summer, I may not have much to report. I thought I would have driver by then, but it might not make it that far in the resto by November...

want to trade?

Okay, I was/am signed up for November, but here it is September 1, and there isno way I am going to make it to a drivable rig by November. I would much rather wait and post when I have something beautiful, than while it is still currently torn to bits prepping for paint.

Anybody want to take my November slot, and I will re-up for late spring?

Torn to bits is the best way to start the story.

In my mind it does not have to be driveable. Then again my better half said my mind is still in another country, but that is a story better told around old vets.
