Sounds good, we'll hold you to that. I'd like to know how they came up with that color for the 25, I'm never sure if the pics are off or if it really is that olive. Also would be nice to put a bug in their ear to get some real history like imported VIN #'s and years out of them.......

dreaming again.

Funny thing I have looked at all of the vehicles many times but now that I have a FJ I can't wait to go back and look over the FJ's real close with my camera in hand... I will be there for a week at the end of June I just hope I have time to get to the museum.

I was bored and did a google for FJ25 toyota and about 20+ pages into the search found those pics that I'd never seen. Yeah... I'm a geek.

This is a dumb question, Don, but can anyone just drop into the museum and have a look around, or is it just for pre-arranged tours??

BTW, for any Gretsch guitar nerds onboard, the FJ25 is getting some exposure on another forum (about the 9th post down) . . .

I've gone and done it again... another bastardized Land Cruiser. For some reason it feels at home over here.

Yeah, I've had it out several times, but this last trip I was out wheelin' it with the boys... through the mountains cross-country style. I was so impressed with how that stock wagon wheeled behind the 2F. I tore it up a bit, but it sure was fun.

I picked up this really big framed print of a 25. It's the one in the Long Beach museum, in front of the same building, but at a different time than the other older pictures that are around. Anyhow, I had to buy it to find out what the thing on the top of the windshield frame was.

I got to see that truck up close at the TORC rally this year. Under-impressed. First thing I noticed, right off the bat, didn't even have Koito headlights! If they're like me, they prolly wish they had it to do all over again, but back then, when the unobtainium was just a little hard to get.

The 45lv that Specter resto-ed for the museum is MUCH NICER.

Mark, do you know who restored the 25 for them? Just curious.

Nope. But I know a few people who could do it over again!

Here's a pic of my "Not really a 25" and my "Not really a 35". Both are down for the count. I blew the head gasket on the NRA25 on Saturday, and the NRA35 is waiting for a new wiring harness. Now I'm stuck driving a Nissan Xterra. CRAP!!!

Gene, I thought you said you found the wiring problem and it turned out not to be a biggie.

Glad to see you and Stacy are still gonna hit the springs tho.

Talk to you soon.

Got all the smoked wiring replaced Tuesday night and went to start it up to do a test drive. Motor didn't turn over and I had to send my son into the house to get the marshmellos. I've always been a little nervous about original wiring and figure this is a good time to replace it.

That stinks Gene, I had an electrical fire in my first cruiser and it burned up nearly everything under the dash without popping a single fuse.

I've never had any fires except for an old ford van I had and that only had the wiring harness by the blower switch split open like an over cooked hot dog. I have burned my fingers before checking fuses. Of course it hard to tell if I had a problem because almost anything you touch on your vehicle here in the summer time will burn you. It's alway seem strange to me that everybody always has problem with factory wiring and the one place in the US that you would think would be the worst (dry hot desert) and I've never really had a problem or is it rusted connections that are causing the problems?

No, that was back when I was 16. Remember that home stereo wire that was shielded with wire braid (ground) on the outside? I had run that under the dash for some speakers. I think it rubbed through the ammeter wire and it well.....grounds to any metal it touches.......
