Vintage FJ Cruiser Owners Group?? Yeah, right . .

According to the web site that this photo came from, we're all driving 1959-61 FJ-Cruisers. (I guess we gotta put on a bezel, plastic bumpers and Toyota sombrero emblems to be authentic.)

Aaaaaaaaaaaack! I had posted in the FJ Cruiser section how Toyota was very careful not to call it a Land Cruiser............I never thought they would try to pimp their new stuff by calling all the existing Land Cruisers......FJ Cruisers!

Anyone know which one this is? Doesn't look like the color of the one at Toyota museum in Gardena.

At a first quick glance, I almost thought it was yours. No, it doesn't look like the museum's 25.

Eric, you're such a skeptic. You probably also think my 1951 BJ with only 117 miles on it that I have stashed down in Bolivia is mythical as well.

Foxfab-What does your engine tune up data sticker look like on the F120? On one of mine the sticker is larger than the later 135s, says many of the same things but is way different

The FJ25 exists, it's just not TPI's. That's the one in Costa Rica that's at the dealership in San Jose, Bob Hollingsworth visited once, took some pictures, then took some "creative licensing" on the captions and that's what triggered it all. Many a Cruiserhead over the last ten years has challenged him for information or more pictures, to no avail.

The one pictured with the white FJ40 *is* the one that Toyota keeps at their museum, the FJ40 is an ultra-low mileage one they got in Santa Fe with the help of Sauter Toyota (long story). The difference must be from the lighting.

Henry, I remember calling up TPI a while back and asking about wheel cylinder kits for fj25s. I wasn't sure if 40 and 25 kits were the same (new to 25s), and I asked the guy on the phone to just take a look at the 25 they have in the catalog . He said something about it being stored elsewhere.

Jackasses.

My vote for ugliest fj25 was one that James Asti had that looked like it had been stored in the Chesapeake Bay.

<LOL>! That's the one that had the oval emblem, I posted a picture of it on another thread on this forum. That was a crusty POS, I think the remaining paint was holding the flakes together!

Was looking at a back issue of Trails (May/June '04) and had completely forgot about this pic on the last page. Any idea whose 25 they used for the photo? One of Marv's?

I haven't seen this nice picture of an early 25:

Photos of Paul E. Black

There's a rip in the soft top door.

Jim are those factory fog lights? I thought the fog lights mounted in the holes in the bumper just outside the frame rails or was that the location when the factory PTO winch was installed.

I don't think they are OEM, even the old parts book show the little silver ornament/hook on the top of the original lights. Just noticed that it has a US Forces plate on it and SAC painted on the bumper, maybe I'll try to mail him to see if there is a story behind it.

I thought they did, but Steve said his didn't look like it was patched over......so maybe not. Another mystery is the sometimes there/sometimes not apron air inlet. Steve's is from Hawaii so it may have been a domestic model.

Mine too dosent have a apron air intake, but it does have air vent on wind shield. Also I noticed my wind shield knobs are totally different then what I have seen so far on all FJ25's. I want to post a pic of those pls let me know where shall I mail it.
