Soft Top Strap Question

Thinking these are OEM? From a 5 window Vinyl top.....
(JohnnyC - the top I sent you a pic of)

Were they strapped like the three on the left or the three on the right.....?.....or does it matter......I have to think there is a "correct" way......

I'm getting buckles and web tips like these.....I like the strap material too....still looking for the most perfect substitute for the webbing material....

Oops...forgot the pic

Thanks Johnny.....wonder what kind of top this is after seeing one seam down the middle....?....
versus 2 centered seams on what we might call oem....?

most every oem top i have seen ...they are all 2 seamers...this i think is also oem it's the only one....maybe another, i'll have to check that i have on record as being a one seam top...i am 99% sure its an oem top...as everything else points to it being oem.

when toyota went vinyl they were no longer "in house" to making tops...thats why there is quite a diverse style the later you go in years....and in region

land cruisers were shipped with fst's tops broken down and assembled at port.

the straps on quite a few oem vinyl tops were located under the vinyl....not on the exterior of the vinyl.

but....i do not see any straps dangling under your making me question this one now...it could be one of those early kayline made replacement tops you would be able to buy thru toyota.

the 5 and 7 window was a much later versions than 66...66 should be a 3 window afaik

Mine came with straps inside, believe most of the newer ones came in this way.
Cheers
