Rack Lighting question. GOBI Factory Safari

how do those of you who have rack lights have them wired? are there holes/channels to use? Is there any drilling?? The low profile Gobi rack and square light combo is amazing!

Have not wired mine yet. I have almost drilled the roof (under the channel covers/trim) 3 times now but I still think Toyota has a way of doing this without drilling and decided to wait for their roof rack light install instructions. I'm probably wasting my time

Here is how I did my roof lights on my '91 4Runner
http://www.pnw4runners.com/tech/roof...ring/index.htm

I do not like to drill holes in roofs, this method worked great for many years.

Took the rack and wires off a month back, as the rig is gettin' traded in soon on the FJC, and the wiring looked perfect after sitting under the weather stripping for so long.

That beats drilling a hole for sure. Nice write up.

Call Gobi and ask for Paul. They just did a roof rack wiring job and he can tell you what to do! I spoke to him last week and he said the install was possible without having to drill.
